Apparently wasn't about money but a coach and club setup he prefers.

Can't blame him. Socceroo having to be coached by a clueless muppet like Walmsley?

Arghhh that hurts. Stirring or not i think FFC is close to the mark. Bugger we still need someone if his kind. I just hope signing Faty didnt give the smurfs the chance to grab Wilko

Yeah - not gonna lie, that hurts. Looking at my son he literally just developed a fresh burning hatred of Sfc and of Arnie, seasoned with a tinge of disappointment with Wilko... He's learning some lessons about loyalty today.
For mine the only criteria for Walmsley now is at least one comprehensive thrashing of the Smurfs next season... I don't care what the roster looks like, make it work, I want to see them shattered...

Not that I'm taking it personally or anything ;-)

Just when you think it isn't possible to hate SFC any more....

I dislike Newcastle intensely but Sydney?

Yeah, not impressed. Then again, onus on us is to recruit better.

Plus if he did go to Sydney as they have a better setup, he better get acquainted with an Iron Maiden. The only culture Sydney has is Game of Thrones without the tits.

We need to get Arnie sacked for our own benefit and fix this mess in our own backyard.

Call Jurman ASAP. Was good this year and now bumped for McGowan and Wilko or is McGowan going to play RB?

Poor Arnie it's not your defence that was the problem but goes and strengthens it instead of his terrible attack.

Throw in Connar Pain then make the Austin deal. No way Fletcher will be tracking back either so don't use that as an excuse to back up an opinion.

Vuko swap is bad business.
Melb don't want him. Yes, he is better than Izzo but who isn't?
Give them McDonald or Fletcher.
Fletcher looks like a muppet and won't work as hard as Mitch.
Budgie is another good option but is only 17.
Austin was one of our ONLY positives for the season and did track back a lot.
With a coach and decent fullback barking at him.....he will do what is needed defensively.

Mrs Rowdy's going to be devo'd with the news of her fav player going to the Smurfs.

I'd have to agree with Coach in that the early signing of Faty by us was a mistake and we should have held off on him until Wilko was in the bag.

Brinkmanship goes a looong way in signing player's. Selling skills on our part should have been all about "Your the one we want, Wilko".

Instead we signed a player Arnie didnt want, days later signed his cousin ....... who Arnie also didnt want. That's the message TW sent unintentionally to Wilko.

On the flipside Arnie's convo with Wilko:
"They signed the trash I didnt want, (then points out all the deficiencies that he thought was in Faty's game, he's older, slower and thus the reason for GA letting him go) and then asks Wilko why would you want to play alongside a CB like that, when you partner at Syd FC would be young, fast & up'n'coming McGowan a future Socceroo. ???

Arnie's always been quite the man manager when it comes to devoloping relationships with his player's, it's quite an asset when it comes to the sales-side of things - as proven yet again.

If I want something from you, I get to choose what I ask for, not what you ask for. If I want to do a deal, I've got to make sure I offer something that you want.

If you don't want McDonald or Fletcher, what makes you think Melbourne Victory do?

I'm upset about losing out on Wilko - especially to Sydney :mad::mad: and the signing of Faty and Tavares - while solid - don't really excite me.

However, there is still a lot to happen - in and out before the off-season is done.

The swap of Danny and Mitch is only a rumour at this stage. If that goes ahead I would be keen to loan one of Izzo or THB to Everton. Given that Monty and Tavares are likely to both be starters I would be keen to extend Liam's deal but loan him to Everton as well to return when Monty retires at the end of next season. Kalik is rumoured to already have been sold and there is talk of Fabio going.

Without knowing who we targeting here and overseas here are some targets that appear fairly obvious.
Defenders available include Dylan McGowan (apparently not a done deal to SFC - maybe in doubt now that Wilko has gone there), Cansdell-Sherriff, Herd and Burgess
Attacking players available include Inman, Dugandzic and Holman
Possible targets from Everton include McAleny, Holgate and Dowell
Youngsters that might be targets include Trent, Mells and Adelson.

As I said - there is still a lot to happen and we shouldn't be too worried about the loss of one target.

Rumour on 442 getting stronger Arnie wants Danny ...

A free transfer to SFC would suit both clubs.

If this happens it screams about the cough cough respect TW holds across the league generally.

If we have to give one of our top 3 or 4 players from last season to get Danny today not the Danny we had ... then ?????????

Looking at worst case scenarios here

If Austin and Kalik go, Vukovic doesn't come in and Fab heads for the departure lounge as well, our best team (based on players we actually have) for round 1 looks something like this:

Izzo
Posco* - Faty - Ascroft - Neill
Tavares
Monty - L.Rose
Fletcher -------------- J.Rose
O'Donovan
Bench:
Izzo
McGing
McDonald
Bingham

It still has a better defensive look about it (especially because the wide men actually defend, unlike Austin and Fab who are lazy as anything without the ball, causing problems with fullbacks that turn into problems at DM and CB...), but it's still a side that's going to be trying to avoid a trophy rather than challenge for them.
