I've asked the club on twitter for clarification.
Whilst we wait for conformation from the club re Bosnar, my mail is as follows:

Bosnar will be with us next season. His role will be to mentor his new CB partner…. Poscillero. The thinking behind having Pos and Bos is that there will be one hard-headed, tough as nails CB and one that is quick off the mark, has a lot of toe about him and a big engine.

Whilst Pos is going to make mistakes, it is felt that Ando would make a similar amount of mistakes. The significant difference is that Pos is young enough to learn from his mistakes… Ando, not so much.

So our back four is going to be

Roux -- Pos -- Bos -- Rose.

The only thing Anderson had on Posc is size and heading ability. In every other way I think Posc is a better footballer. He does make mistakes, but all young players do. In a troubled side, I think he managed to show a lot of potential.

Good news re Matty S. I haven't seen any detractors on here. Just some balancing the facts and unwilling to scream blue murder if he wasn't re signed either.

That back 4 will continue to leak goals.

The squad as I see if 4 - 2 - 3- 1

Goals.... Reddy

Backs Storm .... Poscoliero....Neil [new player as well] .... J Rose

DMids ... Monty .... Liam Rose

AMids ... Fab ,,,, Caceres .... Kalik ... Or move Kalik back to a DM in a 4-3-3 formation.

Striker ....New Player

Subs: Nash, Sim, Tricky, Josh Bingham [striker], Fitzy

Plus the youth side... that's 17 players mostly young add the Everton youth we will need a couple of older players ...

The midfield supported by Poscoliero are all ball players with Rose and Storm down the wings with Monty also adding that bit of mongrel all sides need.

The bench is looking useful with players that can attack and defend.

Bosnar is the unknown at this stage.

All the above assumes the 442 report was correct.

A striker and centre back are the obvious weaknesses.. the Everton link and TW chats to date indicate they can provide quality in these areas.

Getting the right remaining players is where TW will make it or fail… let’s all hope he gets it right…

Indications are that McLaren, Bullit and Gamiero are all on the move next year. Who would you pick out of these three.?All can score which is priority one moving forward.
Also interesting to note that Gallop has stated that one priority is to assist clubs to bring in Marquee players next year. Hopefully he is willing to assist us rather than just the rich clubs.

I'd take McLaren. Bulut for me looks like a natural scorer - but does not fit the family friendly demographic that we are looking to attract.

McLaren - Yes!
Gameiro - maybe, I think McLaren is probably better though.
Bulut - No way!

Assistance with grabbing a marquee sounds good.

The assistance probably wouldn't be financial. It would probably be leads and legal info for aspiring marquee appointments.

Telegraph Sat in article about Gallop's plans.
"Revealed FFA was already working with clubs to bankroll more high profile international stars into the A League." Like to know if he has had discussions with Mariners or only 'big clubs'.

I can't help but wonder - why didn't they give some of the youngsters we had signed a run this season? when the season's a write-off, trying out the young kids you've signed but haven't put on the field would seem to make sense. Pity...

The season might have been a write off but we still wanted to avoid the spoon though.
My own view is that regardless of table position we should put our best team out and try to win every game we play.

No to Bulut for me. Just too hard seeing him not doing something silly and then being down a key player.

Gameiro and Mc Claren sure. But I think it's unlikely...

Maybe I've just fallen into a bit of a cynical mind set and I'm happy to be wrong or informed otherwise (Ferreria's signing surprised me and is the best signing Moss made) but coming off our last season combined with no ACL to offer and our finances/pay for your supper - penny pinching debacle – it's a hard to imagine until we've have another decent season and appear more settled both on and off the park that we'd be a fist choice for many players very familiar with the HAL unless we're offering very good coin. (Which is not typical of us) Otherwise suspect it will be local players who need their shot ie; youth - or those who don't have another option. But maybe the fact they seem confident enough to release Cernak and Anderson etc, means they're confident of the quality they can bring in. Fingers crossed I guess...

Also it can be akin to throwing kids to the wolves and destroy morale even further.

The A-League *is* a salary capped competition, and in light of the Perth debacle and my own sense of things, it is almost inconceivable that the FFA would directly offer financial assistance (grants) separately to directly subsidise any clubs to "marquee-ise" themselves. Perhaps they are considering a loan scheme, perhaps the loan to be advanced out of the club's media pool payments, but that would be counterproductive to the whole concept of the salary cap. A one liner without any detail in the SmellyCrap doesn't fill me with confidence that this idea will go ahead, and could be of benefit to us.
