So thats only 19 players and he will add 2 more brings the squad to 21. Thats a small squad isn't it???

Still leaves us a striker short in my opinion. Maybe leaving the door open for that marque. Haha
Interesting article by Tony. These points stood out for me....
"Balance and pace on the left will provide service in tandem with Fabio Ferreira and hard working strikers who can compliment each other; one with aerial ability and one who can play off shoulders and benefit from high quality service."
So is the one who has aerial ability O'Donovon? He talks about 2 strikers so unless the other is Bingham there is another coming or maybe it's Matty been resigned?

"We are looking at adding a central defender to bolster that area and possibly a young goalkeeper which will take us to our limit."
Central defender is imperative...at least one. The only way i can see that having a young keeper will benefit the squad is if Nash is taking the coaching job. He is contracted till 2016 isn't he? We don't need 3. Would be surprised if 21 is our limit... i hope not!

Resigning Caceras is the next most important business for the club.
12 months to go other clubs in a league will start circling and unless we are going to sell him in January he is probably the squad member who would be next on the selling block which appears to be part of the clubs philosophy. So resign him now so we can be patient with on sale.

I like to play off the shoulder of the last defender and being a nuisance to central defenders and hopefully a goalscorer,” O’Donovan said.

Thanks Roy. Having seen the clips of his goals O'Donovan looks pretty good in the air,so just assumed. So, the other striker with aerial ability is Bingham? Or maybe Matty.

I am not sure I understand this: "The off-season challenge for the Central Coast Mariners is to recruit within budget constraints, within the salary cap" Why are there budget restraints when there is a salary cap?

It could be that the current contracted players are already close the the cap. Most likely do to mismanagement by Moss.

"The primary focus is to attract variety in the front third, which we have started with the recruitment of both Roy O’Donovan and Mitch Austin this week" Does this mean there is more to come in this area, or this year is a start and we will do more next year?

"We are looking at adding a central defender to bolster that area and possibly a young goalkeeper, which will take us to our limit." With only Jacob and Eddy as dedicated central defenders (and already having 2 keepers) I would rather have a first choice CB and a squad CB.

I still would like that marquee. ;)

Arnie's wielded the axe at the Smurfs, with Ognenovski, Gameiro, Dimitrijevic, Gligor, Triantis, Carle and Stambolziev released and Ibini returning to Shanghai (although he's reportedly been linked to Club Brugge).

Any out of that list we'd be interested in?

I'd take the Ogmonster; we've already got Gamiero's position covered haven't we?
I wouldn't say no to Dimitrijevic.
I don't think the others are better than what we already have, at least in potential. It's probably time for Carle to give it away.

Gameiro would be a good pick up. Fits our profile for getting good young Aussie players and is a striker which we need. Has been unlucky with injuries and we could get the best out of him. I think Oggy will retire and we don't need a player in Carle's position.
Milos- yes please, would give us alot of quality but is probably out of our price range. Bernie - Absolutely! If at all possible Bernie and Gameiro would be brilliant signings. Think Bernie would want to stay close to family so hopefully if he gets any say in the matter, he comes back to where he is most loved. :)

We might be interested but I doubt Walmsley is. He says he is happy with our midfield, is looking for a striker with aerial ability, and a centre half; only Ogmonster fits the job description from that list, but he should retire anyway.
