That would be a very great loss, if it turned out to be more than a loan - and probably not good for the lad either.
All our players are raised to be sold, so would be good for the club, plus he needs to toughen up. A few Cro defenders will go straight through him. Might realise how good things are here.

Not an ideal place for him to reach his potential as I think it will be to physical for him but as dibo says he could go somewhere better from there.

Personally haven't seen him do anything special. Think he was played in A League to early.

Interesting to note that he is signed to us until the end of next season. That must have been extended without any fanfare. He has looked ok at NYL level but with limited HAL time hasn't impressed in the same way as Liam.

Maybe a case of believing his own hype. Let's hope the loan is good for him and he settles down and delivers for us next year.

The
Central Coast Mariners are close to making a decision on Youssouf Hersi, and the news looks good for the former Western Sydney and Perth flyer.
Hersi's recruitment has been a drawn-out affair after his arrival in Australia was delayed due to a mix-up over the validity of his passport.
The 33-year-old Dutchman finally arrived in Gosford last week and has been undergoing a rigorous medical with the Mariners, completing fitness tests and partial training sessions with the team.
One of the main concerns surrounded whether he has fully recovered from the hamstring tear that hampered his time at Perth last season.
The Glory released him in May after he made only eight appearances, but if all goes well he could well be available for the upcoming away trip to Brisbane Roar.
Chief executive Shaun Mielekamp previously told AAP the Mariners are looking to lock Hersi down for the remainder of this season and potentially next season.
It would wrap up a busy transfer period for the Mariners, whose biggest and most surprising signing was marquee Luis Garcia.
The club have also added to their ranks former Young Socceroo Matthew Fletcher, NPL trio Francesco Stella, Alastair Bray and Brad McDonald, and youth player Trent Buhagiar.
The new additions replace departures including Manchester City signing and Melbourne City loaning Anthony Caceres and his fellow new City teammate Nick Fitzgerald.
The Mariners also reached an agreement on Monday to send 18-year-old Anthony Kalik on a loan deal to top-tier Croatian side HNK Hajduk Split until at least June.

As CCM are well into the season and have suffered the pain already it would be fairly pointless to bring Wilko back as his presence would only hamper and delay the learning curve for the young guys.
Being honest we are done and dusted for the season so it makes sense to give the boys as much game time as possible and we will see the benefits next season. A more confident and united team.
I like Wilko as a player and person but we needed him at the start of the year now it is time for the young guns.

THE Wanderers face some difficult choices over the make-up of their squad next season, with their trio of Spanish imports coveted by other clubs in the A-League.
Western Sydney have opened talks with all three of Andreu, Dimas and Alberto about re-signing them for next season, but other clubs including the Mariners and Perth have made clear their intention to offer significant pay increases. Andreu is understood to be the highest-paid of the three, at just over $200,000, but all have been integral to the overhaul of style at Western Sydney that has seen them climb to the top of the A-League.

Alberto, age 31, CB; Dimas, age 33, DCM; Andreu, age 32, CM. If true, which one would we be after?

Alberto would be cheaper than Wilko, same age. McGing, Ascroft & Posco all signed for next season or beyond, Uskok contracted for this season only.

The Wanderers trio are probably the tip of the iceberg as far as quality recruits go.
I`d be sitting down with Luis & having a chat to him about who he knows that would be a good fit for us.
We also have the benefit of our location which has to be a draw-card for a 30yr + experienced player with a young family.
Look at how Monty has settled in, he loves it here & enjoys taking his daughters & wife down the beach in the afternoons.

Maybe a few sangrias would loosen his tongue!

If we can manage to keep King Luis, and Hersi is good for next season...then i think all we really need is an experienced CB who is comfortable on the ball. If Luis stays then that would be a drawcard for someone like Andreu. We can cover DM with Monty and Liam Rose as starters and McGing, Posco and Ascroft able to cover there as well. Add on another couple of youngsters and the squad is set.

Alberta is what we need. The other two have been good but we have plenty of DM. Would tread on Monty and Rose toes.
Don't really see Andreu as the type of No10 we need next year
