I suggest the first time they come to visit we all take a tray of eggs...
Coins - They want money I'll happily give them some loose change. hopefully knock some sense into them.

They are entitled to earn a keep I get that but it's how you handle your self that is pissing me off.

Arnie - sucked Sydney off on his press conference - No mention of where he came from & no job here
Berni - (Hurts way more than Arnie) - Could have given us a chance to match the SFC knowing full well we couldn't - Better & smarter business as well as I need the coin for my family but thank you Mariners.

How many thank you mariners from them 2 -
So far total = Zero

Piss off & suck on a Latte

We did not 'lose' Bernie as suggested. He was signed to Shanghai. His contract is with Shanghai not CCM. How they choose to loan him out is their (and to an extent Bernie's decision) call, not ours. As much as I dislike it you cannot blame Bernie, or Arnie for that matter.

It seems quite clear that we did not offer him enough. For Moss to come out and say they did not get a right of reply is utter rubbish. If you want him that much offer what he is worth the first time and not play silly buggers.
Thats where our philsophy & mid year pick probably hurt our negotiating.

Rogic if comes back won't be for the cash
Bernie it's for the family
just shows we don't splash the cash & Mossy admits we probably would have match the offer but the chance would have been respectful

While Shanghai own him - He has them by the curlies as doesn't want to play for them. We have good relationship with them via Berni & McBreen. Came down to them getting more cash & Berni's agent not coming back to us.
So yes he wasn't ours as such it's the lack of respect shown that hurts.
If we were under paying why didn't he agree to play here next year.

First 30 seconds...and he was not prompted at all!

He seemed determined to make that point...so I guess that's something

Still hurt by him!

Our ins and outs this year should be pretty instructive in terms of where we are relative to the cap. I'll compare start of year to start of year - we're looking for deliberate, structural change in the cap:

Out:
  • Sainsbury
  • McBreen
  • Sterjovski
  • Flores
  • Pasfield
In:
  • Bosnar
  • Kim
  • Trifiro
  • Sim
  • Cernak
I'm guessing McBreen and Sterjovski were both on reasonable wedges, and we know (through Sproddy) that Flores was on about $200k. I'd also guess that Pasfield was signed as the number 1, and Reddy has basically picked up that amount and we'll effectively sign a replacement backup keeper.

There are a few more players that I'm not sure about their status - Griffiths, Duke, Kwasnik. Are they contracted past this season?

There might be a bit of money lying around within the cap for another decent signing or two. Who knows, we might even go cuckoo bananas and sign a marquee.

A marquee would be nice. Would think from the list above that we have saved some cash? Can't imagine Trif/Sim/Isaka are on much.

Good work! Looks about right. What are the squad rules for the very young players? From the list above there are about 3 or 4 that must be 16 or 17?

Why are we worrying about WeeMac going to FC just yet? He's signed to end of next season isn't he? Seeing there's no transfers between A-League clubs, wouldn't he have to wait until then before he went? I have the idea that he was originally signed by Lawrie (correct me if I'm wrong) so I would think the only reason he'd want to continue to follow Arsehole Arnie would be to a higher level, which does not describe the Sky Poos in any way, shape or size. And anyway, there's no guarantee :poo: will have the same coach by then; a lot of their fans were against him the last time they tried to get him, a couple or three losses on the trot and they'll be into him again.

this is what pisses me off...the fkn brain deadness of the script reading...what are they gonna do, cancel the contract if arnie or whoever says "be buggered, if im gonna say this load of shit"

Chill out Sydmariner. Did you even listen to the interview? He made a point of praising and thanking the Mariners, and then said that moving to Sydney helps his family situation (which is THE reason for him returning to Australia)

So our squad isn't gonna change much from the looks of it, only Simon and Griffiths off contract. Our need for quality should force both of them out (as much as it pains me, I love Simon for all he's done and I rate Griffo despite his brain farts). We REALLY need a quality attacking force, either a full blown out-and-out #10 or a known quantity goal scorer who will get the job done consistently, plus a defensive dynamo to fit in with Eddy and Zac. Both our main CBs are good, but we are still feeling the loss of Wilko, Patty Z and Trent. We should try getting more Asian players, try to get a Japanese or Chinese defender or striker. That fullback with the sick mullet from Beijing, I'd take him :headbounce:

Actually, looking at our player count, there is 24 players there. If McGlinchey returns and both Simon and Griffo go, then we only have on spot.

I'm pretty sure Simon is on a two year deal ending at end of 14/15.

Hm, it's funny, but I had it in my head that he was only signed till the end of this season too... Well thank goodness for that, maybe then we can stop chatting about releasing him and focus on what should actually be happening.... I'm not quite sure what it is though... I'm tempted to say that we should just keep the squad as is... Took them most of the season to gel, perhaps it's not such a bad idea to just keep them together and see how we go next season... I'm still very concerned about Griff2, but I too rate him, it's just that his brain farts usually aren't just minor things... They usually end up being ridisulously expensive!

But if we do keep him and get WeeMac back, then yes, all we need is a new keeper and a LOT of target practice...

New keeper? Why? Reddy was one of, if not THE, best keeper in the A-League last year. Why would you want to replace him?
