Would it be fair to say that IF Niz leaves, di pizio would step into his role as well as fight it out with Theo on the wings, with Brandtman taking Di pizios bench super sub role? I would like us to go back 2 season were we had a rotating front 4 of Beni, Sammy, Tulio, and Cummings but with Theo, Di Piz, Edmo, and Alou. Have Bradtman and get Ronnie back as main attacking subs
I think we can do better then Theo, a visa winger as replacement for Torres would be ideal and have Theo as an impact sub as well,
But I agree with having Di pizio in the niz role if he was to leave

Yep. I know it will be hard but we need a Tilio or Torres in the squad.
My son was watching highlights from last season against Adelaide midseason and Tilio and Torres created far more attacking football then we saw in the final third of the season. The goals flowed and the team just looked so solid attacking wise.

Yes i think so with Brandtman as his deputy and you can push Di Pizzio into Theo spot if you wish.

Going to be difficult replacing a JW medal winner that’s for sure

We can't understate the impact another goal scoring threat would have on freeing up Edmo. If we don't have enough fire power he'll be easy to contain.

Priority 1 is a goalkeeper, also the only position we know for sure needs replacing.
We have 3 priorities all of equal importance as of right now.

Jacko and Vuka could easily decide to back Warshawsky. Its a risk ofcourse and a big call, but they know better than us armchair experts. The easy option would be to sign someone experienced for a season. Would personally love to see Birra comeback, I’m sure he’d be highly motivated.

Hally needs to be replaced with some serious quality. Would love for him to be able to backflip on Auckland but I can’t see it being possible. Sainsbury would be the literal perfect replacement/upgrade but perth are probably the favourites for him.

Torres’ elite attacking output NEEDS to be replaced. We need that one guy, that one himothy, that one elite weapon that’ll score goals whether it’s a winger, striker or #10.

I don’t think we’ll sign replacements for Niz (if he goes) and Max. Feel like Migz would take niz’s spot and steeley takes Max’s. We’re quite blessed in the CM/DM area.

The think counting against Trent is our model usually looks at bringing home with regards to re-selling afterwards. Danny being the exception.

I suspect Trent's wages may be fairly high. But if reasonable and he is happy to come and retire here like Danny it may not be a bad call. We are likely to lose either one or both of Dan or Nizz (plus Max) and Trent can play a CM role as well (though he hasn't played there often).

I for one hope they stay another year and compete in asia! Especially with their contracts expiring June 30th we wouldn't even get paid a transfer fee if they left now. (Which is dumb business.)

Not dumb, just unavoidable if the players will not sign extensions to their contracts.
shame, the players know our situation and they refuse to sign a 1 year contract so we can get transfer fees? Nobody really rushing to sign them from what Ive seen so far in the media.

Its too early at the moment, it’s hard but we have to be patient and if some players choose to leave as free agents I hold no grudges as they have delivered or helped deliver two great seasons. A transfer fee could mean they lose an opportunity, I would do the same if it was me.

Yeah, talk about rock and a hard place. Though other teams seem to be able to sell their players for a massive amount. I hope we're getting so spicy installments every 6 months and league appearances.

Other clubs often have more of a leg to standard on - Bos for example had two years left on his contract because he'd signed a three year deal in the first place. We've been looking at most two year deals with a look to sell after one or 1 1/2 years, where if nothing comes out they can walk. This year is really the first time we've started to see the longer contracts (Doka, Mauragis).

The clubs have no power these days. Maybe in Aussie codes they do as there isnt an international market per se. In football, its the players who have all the power
A multi year deal probably has release clauses in it

It all comes down to having the guts, funds and depth to let them sit on the bench if they chuck their toys. In the past we've been too soft because we havent been able to absorb that impact, or we've not been an attractive enough case to lure them here without that escape clause. That has to change if we want to be getting higher consistent sales.
