ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I don’t.

We have recruited a number of Aussie players from other teams recently - it’s not just visas and juniors. I don’t think any of our juniors are ready to be a starter with t the greatest respect to our academy team. Do Pizio got a couple of minutes last year, but he’s apparently off in Jan.

We have recruited recently Rhus, Theo, DWH, Sammy, McGarry, Roux, nectar, Aqua and Smith from other A league squads. And I’m sure there are a tonne of early 20s players banging down the door to get in our squad.

First thing I thought when Arzani was released is that he’s the kind of player who would get out of a crap system for another chance to rebuild and go overseas, ala Sammy. Sounds like he’s going to Vuk, but I’m sure there will be other like him.

Arzani is a sicknote and far better being hugely overpaid by victory

I don’t think Alou is a straight Cummings replacement.. not yet. But it will certainly be good to have him home and no doubt at all, Monty and Serg will breathe new life into him again.
I don't either. However, with Tulio, Beni, Niz etc causing a lot of turnovers his speed will be better used than last time he was here. I.e we are a better side now

Agree, watched what I could of him over in France recently but unfortunately the U23 set up isn’t so much about team play so he was given limited opportunities but he is fast and hustles well off the ball. If he can build some understanding with the team in the front third he could easily be a 10 to 15 goal striker.

The only thing that looks a bit dodgy about this lineup is Farrell at CB which we saw a couple times this season. Also I’m relying on Tulio to resign his contract but overall I think this is a solid lineup.

Big Chance that is is Paull at LCB. Will certainly put pressure on Farrell. How SFC didn’t give him a go when they had their injuries is beyond belief

Same could be said for Sammy, 1st time he left he had consistency issues and didn't exactly light things up overseas or his loan at the jets. I think Theo has done enough in his cameos and with a full preseason to have first shot at the wing position.
Theo does what Hoole used to do. Over possess. He should get first crack at starting, if he performs during pre season and earns it.

I also think Theo is very under rated defensively, he won some huge tackles, not to mention the one in the GF that lead to Moresches goal.

The problem is he isn't a 90 min player and honestly even with a full pre season I don't think he would be.

We definitely need a Sammy replacement.
