Hmmm... Vuka looked a tad tubby in the recent WC qualifier. If he really is coming then I wonder if it's partly as a GK coach? Would be a nice bit of symmetry to his career when you think about how he got his start.

I would be ecstatic with that.

He is 37 and has been riding the pine for most of the last two seasons - there are some risks there.

We are supposed to be getting a GK coach from overseas. If that is still going ahead then you would assume he would have a list of recommendations as a starting point.

If Danny wants to go to the WC then we may be a good option for him - even on a 6 month loan. Assuming 3 keepers Maty is a lock, Redmayne is unlikely to be dropped (though we have to get through the group for his now well known antics would come into play) and if Birraz gets good game time at Dundee - Danny may be vulnerable.

I am sure the visa CB will be a great signing whoever it is but I was more intrigued by Monty’s comments about the second CB he mentioned in the club’s video content earlier today who ‘he knows very well’. Could that be Trenners? (oh be still my beating heart ) or Glassock perhaps?

i believe that our GK signing will be a visa player too and the new GK coach (Miguel someone) apparently arrives this weekend.

I am sure the visa CB will be a great signing whoever it is but I was more intrigued by Monty’s comments about the second CB he mentioned in the club’s video content earlier today who ‘he knows very well’. Could that be Trenners? (oh be still my beating heart ) or Glassock perhaps?

i believe that our GK signing will be a visa player too and the new GK coach (Miguel someone) apparently arrives this weekend.

It was a very good interview, Monty revealed alot whilst not giving away too much. Basically saying Ayongo was signed with the expectation Marco would go home at some point. No mention of the centre midfield area when talking about signings, seems like he’s going to back the 4 young lads. Basically the final phase of signings is settling the defence, was surprised when he spoke of an extra CB signing. Wouldn’t be a bad idea if they’re a good age for more experience to the squad.
He also had a slight dig at Ollie and his agent wanting a massive salary (that’s what I took out of that comment anyway) when he said we’ll never pay one player exorbitantly more than the squad. It’s also soooo refreshing seeing how incredibly confident he is when he talks about the academy production line. You won’t see another aleague coach talk that confidently about their youth,

The visa CB - as well as the other one CB coming in or even Dan Hall can probably cover CM if there are too many injuries or a loss of form in CM - that's without considering other academy options.

I must admit that video allayed a lot of fears.

I wouldn't have thought we would be investing in two quality CBs (and bumping Dan to the bench) so I assume the 2nd CB that he "knows very well" is more of a backup so not Trent (but hang on to that dream as long as possible).

Phil Jagielka is still going round in the championship at 39 and was a teammate of Monty's for a few years but again if he was coming it would be as the main CB signing not the secondary.

Glassock would be great to see. Only other names that spring to mind in the "Monty knows well" category are Dylan Fox or Gallifuoco to provide some cover at CB and DM
