ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

That hurts and big shoes to fill. Definitely see Matty being around as a guiding figure plus bench minutes now. Cummings would have to be odds on to get the armband now.

Not that gutted to lose Urena and not that surprised, good player but very hot and cold last season and fluffed a lot of chances. Nose seemed to be out of joint from Cummings arrival on the scene.

how many players have we got over 30 y.o now?! Simmo is that it?
Think so

I feel this way as well. We are overloaded in the front third, he was one of the highest paid players, yet was on the bench.

Hopefully this frees up money and import space to fill the spine from the back (GK, CB, CM).

Gutted to lose Papi, he brought a lot to the team both on and off the pitch but totally appreciate the circumstances here - nothing to do with the club, purely family reasons.

This leaves us with 2 visa spots (with Cy having also departed) - one of which is going to be used on a CB, and the club is also looking at possibly bringing in a visa GK.

3 visa players gone - Papi, Cy and Muller - 1 with a LTI injury - Moresche. Beni our only one available for the start of the season at this stage.

Edit - sorry Pete - forgot Ayongo.

Missing Ayongo?

CB announcement imminent?
You'd think so, always good to temper the bad news with a positive note. Even if a deal was done perhaps theyve withheld announcing knowing this was coming + Birraz

Pete, definitely not saying you are wrong, you have better insight that most of us and certainly agree Birraz was family Motivated. But collectively even if all coincidental, on the back of Bozanic etc this is not looking good.

Very, very different circumstances for each. The Bozanic thing has been done to death so I’ll put that aside, Birraz wanted another crack at Europe (and deserved the move). Marco I know would have loved to stay here (as would his wife and kids), but it’s absolutely in his best interests for him to be at home with his family at the moment.

They couldn't announce a visa player before now because we didn't have a spare spot. Cy has not been officially announced yet so I assume that is still going through the process and Cy is still a CCM visa player. This means we can announce at least one new visa player now and hopefully another one when the Cy deal is completed.

I believe they could have under the guise of an injury replacement for Moresche. WSW at least have done the visa injury replacement thing before and somewhat recently.

Some on here would remember my thoughts on Marco’s on field performances etc. so I won’t ramble.
My main annoyance is the timing of it, sometimes can’t be helped but still annoying.

all of that aside, I hope all is okay in Marco’s family life, it does seem like it’s happened quickly and best of luck to him.

Bit of a financial war chest for Monty to play with now.

we can sign 10 foreign players if we're willing to pay them, but can only REGISTER 5 foreign players to play in the comp
