ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I can only imagine with those couple early games where he was insanely good, that it was monty who had him playing like that. Then with Staj something didn't gel and he went to shit.

Massive risk because we've seen how polar his days are. It's not just the breaking legs, its the general lack of effort when he's off.

3 year deal says a lot. I was at the point of thinking I was happy he'd moved on after flopping when he left us, but he did play well initially coming from Monty and struggled under other coaches. A 3 year deal suggests Monty does believe he can bring out his potential and work ethic and if so provides another potential x-factor and future development sale.

I'm definitely in the Monty knows his trade camp and so 3 years gives me confidence that he's confident.

This is a huge leap of faith for Monty and he’s backing his own coaching and man management abilities.. I do back Monty 1000% until proven otherwise.
Not going to lie though, this has shocked me. BUT there is a player in there somewhere, perhaps Monty is the guy to bring it out on a consistent basis. I’ll reserve my judgement for a few games/starts.

pinklady’s comments long ago about his attitude and work rate rang true for me last season, I’m sure injuries weren’t the reason he was barely sighted for an extremely average Jets team. Hopefully he’s coming ready to fight for a starting spot.

I think Silvera on a three year deal is a good move. He had experience overseas in Portugal and will only be better for it. He is a very experienced for such a young player. Maybe I am too optimistic but he reminds me of Aaron Mooy early in his career.

Monty also knows him better than anyone and how to manage him properly.

His main competition to get on the pitch was Thurgate, Penha and Mikeltadze wasnt it? Probably playing in the worst possible positions of that team to get more minutes.

Plus hes not going to be on massive money anyway.
I agree with the penha competition, but thurgate was deeper and Beka a #9.
Dont get me wrong, I’m not writing him off this early. I’m just expecting to see a better working attitude.
