ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I saw a very talented young player when he first joined us. He stood out at training but I think he got ahead of himself. Monty is no-nonsense so there will be no bludging allowed and he is surrounded by good players so he won't be the flash show pony surrounded by Mellings and Shabows.

This could be a really good bit of business.

Lets face it - if he had gone OS from NPL and flopped, then we nicked him back everyone would be excited. Sadly, stories of his attitude at the scum precede him. Also, he is soiled by having been a scummer.
He has to prove himself to CCM not the other way around.
I also have complete faith in Monty and his ability to put a rocket up his arse.
Replacement for CY?

Unless Cy’s been bought or seeks an early release, he’s here next season. It’s been said before by many here. He had a heavily disrupted season because of injury and Covid. Monty rates him, just needs to stay fit and he’ll fully show his worth I reckon.

So we’re really just now waiting on fazz, garang, Windust and steeley to be re-signed in the next week or so when contracts expire? Does anyone have word on the older Bayliss? Expected to be kept on? Aquilina and Storm ahead of him…

I want to see Cy prove himself but I also want to plan for the worst and assume he won’t. There’s no excuse not to get the conditioning and strength work in now he knows what he’s up for in our league.

Not excited about the Silvera signing in the slightest to be honest - the 3 year deal makes me really nervous. Ego way too big (tools down after even a hint of an overseas move) and in my eyes doesn't support the hard working/next man up mentality of last year. Yep there's some technical ability there but we've seen plenty of those come and go with no substance behind it. Not to mention, he's tainted his name permanently due to the stint at the scum.

More than happy to be proven wrong. Take it away Monty.

He’s not the bloke we want for 3 years but he is most probably a bench player and possibly cheap.

With the all the great extensions we can afford for Monty to have a crack here.

Cant be any worse than Cy

Garang and Beni on the wings so Silvera could be a sub winger with Ruhs.

My thoughts too. Good business if we can find another sucker club to drop a couple of hundred k on him… again
It’s exactly what has been recently suggested we do… very smart business indeed if it works out. Looks like we are learning from past mistakes AND planning ahead.. good signs ?

I think people are being a bit harsh on Cy.

Been rewatching our season on Paramount the last few weeks and he was very good early on. I think covid and injury had an impact on him and he will get back to his best with a full pre-season behind him.
Agree with that. I think he’s got talent and heaps of potential. I liked him from the get go. Sweet kid too.
