ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Sad to see Ollie go as he was a great player for us in the past.
I don`t know what happened but have read a few things, for what it`s worth.
The biggest positive from the whole episode is that we now have a Manager that commands respect from the players.
I can`t imagine any previous manager (Lawrie and Arnie included ) that would have taken the stance that Monty has taken. It was tough decision to drop your captain, a senior player in good form & one of your leadership team. In doing that, Monty has shown he has the kahounas to lead this team and guide them to better things.
He may never win the league, but he will give us plenty to cheer about and he`ll provide this country with many more Socceroos...

I don’t think there is anyone here that would want him back.
However I think I remember him while he was with us he mentioned he wanted to become a citizen. I think that he would have been he long enough for that to be able to happen now. If that was the case he could be cheapish backup to cover the whole backline.

Except other than a good slide tackle he's shite and 2 years older.

He would still have another year to go before he could apply for citizenship I reckon and putting his history aside, I simply can’t see him having the sort of profile to interest Monty period.

He was never a CB imho and we need a left sided player to truly replace Kye and maintain the balance we have had in our defence.

We all seem to accept football is a business and players make decisions that are in the best interests of themselves, family and career. Why is Ziggy any different? Yes, he could have left in better circumstances and made that unfortunate “winner” comment but if he’s keen on becoming an Australian a longer contract was always the best chance to do that. I’ve lived on the coast since 2008 and we have two football mad boys, 11 and 13. In that time, Ziggy is only the A-League player that says hello, stops for a chat with the boys (particularly when they were wearing Mariners jerseys and he was with CCM) and runs training clinics for kids on a Sunday for peanuts in pay. If other A-League players did the same as he did you can bet CCM would get better crowds and greater interest from kids. Forgive and forget. A like for like replacement for Rowles, no but a very solid defender who would be welcome back in my view…

That's all fine, but frankly... he's not good enough.
