Watching the acedemy boys yesterday and we churn out kids like him without trying. To kick on like the others requires the ability to step up and maybe the brains trust don't see it.
Or Zadshite offered a longer deal on more money.
Imagine relocating to Perth to be coached by him
Lol

It's a tricky one, on one hand he was a decent bench option for us and maybe he'll be a bit of a late bloomer like Daggers has been at Victory. But at the same time I dont see him being a starter and that means occupying a bench spot that could be offered to another youth player or a more established/versatile depth player. Wish him well and hope the departure was on good terms.

My preference would be to keep him as he can effectively play along the entire left side of the field. is is a very good cover option if he isn't in the first 11 discussion but similar to how Noah Smith came in to his own in the second half of the season and changed our team dynamic where we had a lot of success. I would hate to lose him especially because he is an academy product.

Yeah so I take back my previous post,
He is definitely 100% moving to Perth.
Would be nice if we just came out with who was leaving and start announcing some signings ourselves.

Muller, Bozanic, Hatch, Smith, Tongyik and Miller. Rowles not mentioned but seems likely from other sources. Tongyik and to a lesser extent Muller the only real surprises there after we found out about Hatch earlier. If that's the extent of who we've lost I think we'll be ok.

Of those 6 I'd only keenly want to keep Miller, but we know that ship has sailed.
Would love to hold onto Rowles too but happy for him to go on to better things. Totally deserved and he has slotted in to club legend status already for me.

Hatch and Ruon are a shame but can be replaced. Especially RT who we barely saw this season.

There is now a lot more coin to spend than we had and with who we appear to be keeping as a starting point it could be an exciting season!

Hope we know what we are doing.
Pretty crap really to end on this note for Bozanic.
Yes we knew about Miller and Smith but still a disappointment to have it confirmed.
We really better have some amazing replacements lined up.

With the probable departure of Rowles we can invest heavily in the defensive areas which was weaker than our attack last season.
We supposedly have Aqualina coming in for RB and Hall and Farrell will still be there. I would like to see us invest in a "Patty Z Mk II". A top quality experienced CB with a good pedigree in a decent league and a leader that is willing and able to guide the young guys.

One of the implications of todays announcements is that Roux is going to be extended. With Bayliss and Kuzevski, we are well covered at RB but need some more cover at CB/LB

I assume this means it is good news about the other players whose contracts are up at the end of this month, that they have all extended. According to Transfermarkt (and I don't know if that is 100% reliable) this would be Max, Niz, Faz, Storm, Sozer and Ricardo Rizzo the GK who sat on the bench a couple of times (but now seems to be playing at Hills Utd in the NPL).

The following don't have a contract end date on Transfermarkt so I assume are scholarship or academy deals only: Caruso, McCarthy, Windust, Garang, Dor Jok and Steele.

I guess from a membership marketing point of view, we will now starting getting drip fed the good news of key re-signings and new signings

Bozanic:
Sad to see Oli go, I haven't been able to keep up with the saga to do with him so don't know the full circumstances.
When playing he was a quality experienced captain from the Coast and we will need to replace his experience.

Tongyik:
Great player when on form but we barely sighted him this season. Truly thought we would get a good transfer fee for him. We are threadbare at centre back with him gone.

Muller:
Probably our biggest recruitment misfire for last season. I can understand why we took the risk with a resume like his. Good player when actually fit but far too injury prone.

Hatch:
Offered versalitity and pace down the left hand side and is a good bench player. I trust Monty and Ken to adequately replace though.

Miller:
We all knew this was coming but still tough to lose him. Looks likely to pick up a good transfer fee for his next club.

Smith:
Farrell took his spot but was good when called upon. With more options now that border restrictions are lessened I think we can do better.
