I assume this means it is good news about the other players whose contracts are up at the end of this month, that they have all extended. According to Transfermarkt (and I don't know if that is 100% reliable) this would be Max, Niz, Faz, Storm, Sozer and Ricardo Rizzo the GK who sat on the bench a couple of times (but now seems to be playing at Hills Utd in the NPL).

The following don't have a contract end date on Transfermarkt so I assume are scholarship or academy deals only: Caruso, McCarthy, Windust, Garang, Dor Jok and Steele.

I guess from a membership marketing point of view, we will now starting getting drip fed the good news of key re-signings and new signings

Do you know we have locked in Farrell and Hall? I heard Farrell is wanting more money to stay but is also getting interest from a Serie A club.

Ruon is the most shocking for me…. Maybe only because of Kye’s impending departure, given Ruon would again be the main man at the back. I’m not sure he has a wealth of upgrading options tbh. He lost his spot (originally) on merit to Hally. Then ofcourse injuries and the tragic family news. I wish him and his family the best.

Ollie is a frustrating one, I’ve heard some stories but I don’t want to post them here as I can’t be sure of the legitimacy of the story teller. I’ll always love Ollie, my favourite ever coastie.

I’d also love to eventually know the ins and outs of lewis’ departure. We could’ve upgraded his contract easily, he’d be an important player here until he got a good transfer. Now he’s going to player under a toothless media hype manager. Sad. And I feel let down right now.

Hatchy is a little surprising, but I can see another youth lad easily taking his place. Muller I’m genuinely not fussed about. Same with Smith.

I have nothing against the likes of Hall, Fazz, niz or even max asking for abit more money. We can now. Give it to them, they deserve it, we’ll be repaid in a couple years when we get transfer fees for them after we build a team around our excellent youth. It shits me to tears when our brilliant young lads leave to other aleague sides for a few hundred bucks more a week. We’re apparently financially capable now. Time to buck the trend.

Hall is 2023 according to Transfermarkt. Again, don't know how reliable that is.

Idk about Farrell - I was suggesting that was the implication of the announcement - that any June 2022 players not on that list were going to be extended, but it is maybe a big assumption.

We supposedly have Aqualina coming in for RB and Hall and Farrell will still be there. I would like to see us invest in a "Patty Z Mk II". A top quality experienced CB with a good pedigree in a decent league and a leader that is willing and able to guide the young guys.

One of the implications of todays announcements is that Roux is going to be extended. With Bayliss and Kuzevski, we are well covered at RB but need some more cover at CB/LB
Andy Considine fits your description of “Patty Z II”. May aswell call him the Scottish patty.
Ruon also leaving almost confirms the Considine rumour in all seriousness.

So Niz and garang are rumoured to have already been extended. Monty almost sees Farrell as his own son so I’d be absolutely mind blown if Monty let’s him leave to another aleague side. I’m sure our new owner, ken and Monty know exactly who are the most crucial re-signings. Max, steeley, Windust and McCarthy are all loved by Monty and have big quality. I refuse to believe this is going to be another “same old mariners” off season.

I'd be very surprised if there is genuine interest in Faz from a Serie A club. Absolutely he had a good year but cost us in at least a couple of games with pretty poor positional sense and not being aware of wide attackers. Nabbout's goal was one instance and there were others - I was shouting at him a few times to stop ball watching.

That's not the kind of defensive discipline you associate with Serie A, but maybe someone thinks he's good enough to learn their standards?

To me he is a real diamond in the rough. He hands down wins every physical metric at the club and his numbers are freakish, even for a footballer. Doesn’t surprise me that clubs also see this and his potential. It is pocket money for these clubs to take a punt on this type of player, especially if off contract. Loan him to a Serie C club and see what he can do from there.
