I hope the refs don't take a dislike to him.
Great tackle, really do fear our bias ref’s will punish him for tackles like that. I’m sure nothing will change even with an independent HAL. Staj needs to try and talk with the powers at be however probably still will not work. Will be interesting to see how many yellows O’Neil gets wearing Orange.

It’s terrible we sign a good strong defender and we worry about the referee, something not right with that. Bart would be a great team mate for Ziggy, anyone know where Bart is going?

Unless the roar start very well I can’t see them getting a lot more favour than us. Playing for Victory or Sydney however...

Bart wanted marquee money and I read recently the number was around 2 mil. He would be a great addition to any team but there’s not many clubs here that can afford to offer him that much. With city out of the race that pretty much leaves Sydney and Victory and the competition for those spots is high. Not sure who Sydney’s marquees are right now but Toivonnen will be for Victory and Troisi was the other but he won’t get that kind of money again so they will have 1 spot free.

Fowler was supposedly looking to sign a new keeper (Max Crocombe) which is weird since young is one of the better keepers in the comp and spending more on a backup doesn’t make much sense. Unless he’s looking to free up some funds, in which case it would be awesome if we got him. All very unlikely of course.
Id say the best keeper currently. So he would command big $$.

I think our refs will be smitten by Fowlers star power and favour roar - but will still be so hopeless that they consistently get ripped off and don’t even notice that they’re typically getting the run of the green. Just like with SFC and MVC.

Also includes "Gettin' Ziggy Wit' it" compilation video :D - he's definitely going to get a shock when he keeps getting sent off for perfectly clean tackles in this league.....

Ziggy Gordon only needed one conversation with coach Alen Stajcic to know Central Coast Mariners was the right club for him.

The Scottish youth international has been brought in to add some steel and grit a Mariners side that has struggled in recent seasons.

But the Hyundai A-League club wasn’t the only potential suitor for the tough-tackling 26-year-old defender, who also had teams in Poland and his native Scotland trying to lure him.

In the end, it was Stajcic’s clear vision and candid message that convinced Gordon to move to Gosford.

“The first thing that struck me was how honest he was. I asked him from the beginning what his philosophy was, what does he want in the next one, two, three years.

“He told me it was a project here and if I wanted to be a part of it.

“I was always thinking about it, even when I was speaking to other clubs, I always remembered that conversation with him, I couldn’t get it out of my head.

“I feel this is the right place where I can develop, it’s the place where I can make the biggest impact and that’s what I want to do, make an impact.”

I dropped into training on friday, to catch up with a few people.
Had a chat with Tommy Oar, he said his knee was fine and he wasn`t showing any discomfort.
Matty said he was looking forward to this season as last year was a disaster.
Staj looked comfortable and had the attention of all the players so it looks like he`s already got some respect there.
Had a chance to catch up with Naz, he`s a really nice approachable guy.

The Korean lads and Ziggy were there and everything looked organised and professional.
I think, although it will be a tough season, we`ve finally turned the corner and hopefully by the end of the season we`ll be
a lot further up the ladder than last year.

Honestly if we are leading at half time 11 times this season, I dare say we'll have at least 6 wins alone. We surely can't butcher that much opportunity 2 years in a row.
Gives us 16 other games to get 6 wins to make finals.

All sounds very positive and a step in the right direction. Looking forward to seeing the first hitout at Pluim on Saturday.

I will copy some posts on 442 and can anybody shed any light on them... the thread about SFC signing Luke Bratten

The rumour is we are signing """Ryan Teague"" see posts below
https://forum.insidesport.com.au/2807770/Sydney-FC-set-to-sign-Luke-Brattan

From a potser called sportaddict

Why? Literally why? Sydney have Ryan Teague who has been killing it in NPL and they choose, rather than developing him and giving him a chance, to sign Luke Brattan. Teague is literally the most highly regarded young midfielder in the country. What’s the point of an academy if you don’t use it... Tilio, Teague... the list goes on.

From a poster called sub007

He’s apparently off to CCM.

From a poster called Barca4Life in part it says

I do agree with Teague, captain of the Joeys but looks a player as a No.6
