ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

Tom Glover. Would you have him back?![]()
I'd be betting in it as an outside chance. He hasn't been announced as leaving so is still on standby
Well Nash was in a similar situation...Outside chance of being retained at all.
But surely a long shot of making a keeper you’re still not sure you want to offer a contract to at all, and going... ah hell, i’ll make them keeper/coach.
When he was originally signed? But Nash was a qualified GK coach working for John Crawley at EGK.
On 28 July 2014 the Central Coast Mariners confirmed that Nash would be joining the team on a two-year contract at the conclusion of the 2014 NPL NSW Men's 1 season.[8] On 7 July 2015 it was announced that Nash would retire as a goalkeeper and become the club's goalkeeping coach following the departure of previous goalkeeping coach John Crawley.[9]When he was originally signed?

It would, I just struggle to have any faith in our decision making anymore.Staj said there were two players they were unsure they would retain and they had explained to those two players that while that was obviously hard for them to wait, they had put themselves in that position.
That’s clearly Kennedy and Hoole.
So be a strange move to then hire said player as a coach don’t you think?

And what was Nash doing coaching? If Kennedy doesn't know when to stay or come for the ball, how can he advice and instruct less experienced keepers when to so?
And what was Nash doing coaching?
The week after the game they'd have been looking at video.
Would Nash have been telling him he should have come for that ball and BK not understanding? Maybe lack of confidence.
Surely as a decent coach he should have been getting the message through.
Sounds typical CCM really, we have a history of hiring ex-players as unqualified, inexperienced coaches.....Staj said there were two players they were unsure they would retain and they had explained to those two players that while that was obviously hard for them to wait, they had put themselves in that position.

Kennedy and Hoole have always been 1 in 5 players. They give you 1 good game in 5. It was no different when they were at jets and hoole at sfc. You allow that for a guy who's U21 but you cant accept it for guys with 100+ games to their name.Sounds typical CCM really, we have a history of hiring ex-players as unqualified, inexperienced coaches.....
Losing Nash can only be a positive. It's overly simplistic to identify that he's been the coach of our poorest defensive years; after all, the underperformance of the defence (even midfield) are pertinent for that.
But the goalkeeping itself has been poor - I suppose it comes down to, how do you identify what's down to the coach, and what's down to the player? Similarly, would we be as disappointed with Kennedy with a different keeper coach?
Either way, i feel like cleaning out as many people as possible that have anything to do with our dark years can only be a positive step forwards.
But for that reason, I do think keeping Kennedy as keeper coach would be the wrong move.......although I expect it's going to be a serious consideration at the moment. We have no keeper coach, the fans want to let him go, he's approaching the end of his career one way or another.....it could be the move that satisfied both parties. As to whether it's the right move.....Having experience doesn't automatically make one a good coach
