ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think with the way we re-signed Rowles and Clisby early we’ve shown our hand on who we expect to play on the left side of a back four if that’s the formation we run. That said if one of them has a patch of terrible form we would start looking at sliding Rowles over/dropping him and seeing how GG or Tongyik looks in the middle. But if Staj can get us back to preseason Clisby and he gets some confidence he could prove some doubters wrong.
Given our limited funds I can’t see us doubling down on that part of the pitch.
I agree that Rowles should be our left sided central defender, but shouldn't we have a specialist left back? Clisby is a centre back playing as a left fullback, at best he is average and at worst he is a liability. When there are decent, and cheap, players available in the NPL why don't we go for them?

I guess Stajcic's game plan will play a big part in whether Clisby is of use or not and Stajcic seems to see him as useful. I just hope his limitations are being considered and we are building a team around what our players a capable of not on what we hope they are.

Clisby is a 100% specialist left back JP. Has only ever been a LB. He’ll be our regular LB again next season whether we like it or not.
I’m not stoked about it but he’s one of those players who isn’t brilliant but he’s eager, works hard for his shirt and is solid enough.
I honestly don’t think there’s too much debate to had about where GG will play either. He’s never been a RB, so he’s not the McGing replacement. He’ll either be our starting CB or one of the starting DM’s.
I guess it’ll be dependent on the visa players we sign.

Gabriel Cleur, an Australian right back who has played 9 games in Serie B and 7 in Serie C is looking for a loan most likely to Serie C, worth the club looking at?

So, as style_cafe said the other week, Nash is off to the smurfs.
So what do they see in him that the Mariners don't?
Is he a shit coach, which is why our keepers are shit?
Or is he a good coach, while our keepers are shit?

I suspect the latter. I watched him in pre-season at Pluim when BK first came. He picked a couple of things very quickly that BK was doing wrong - things that I had not picked at that stage.

Former Mariners' youth player Jesse Curran is in Australia and off contract, might want to move home?
https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/spo...rran-and-kerr-waddell-to-sign-new-dens-deals/

I’d love to see him back here, although he’d be better off career wise over there.
Not far away from being a regular at Dundee and the English clubs ALWAYS have eyes on the Scottish top flight looking for cheap good quality battle hardened pro’s.
Who knows what Jesse wants to do though.
If I worked in the football dept at ccm I would’ve called Jesse yesterday.

He was a dud. His biggest failings.........oh shit I don't have time to list them all.

The trouble is Pat, he picked the shit players.

Surely he would have had some sway in who we get in to keep though, if not for the first choice for backup & third. I mean with what we’ve seen from the club anything is possible but not having someone else step up when BK was really poor reflects quite poorly on the keeper coach.
