Turned 33 a few months ago. Not the kind of striker I imagined, but looks strong enough to hold his own against Australian CB’s. Which quite a few strikers are not.

Interesting signing. Hard to tell from his highlights how much of an upgrade on Matty he will be. Only a few months younger. An inch taller. Doesn’t appear to create his own goals either. Has not been prolific in recent years. But... hopefully he’s a class above like many imports and that will show on the field.

Ruiz-Diaz scored for the Aus U19’s tonight, will be good for his confidence. Staj likes him a lot so hopefully gets more minutes this season.
Has gone 3 months without a goal or assist in NPL and even lost his starting position. Out of favour with Staj and Monty definitely not a fan. A League players were pleased when he was sent back to NPL training and the NPL players and coaches are not unhappy that he is away for an extended period. Last 2 NPL games have seen best result and best performances of the season 4-4 against 2nd place Hills and 3-0 against 3rd place Mounties without Diaz. Shouldn't be anywhere near the A League but still has one influential supporter in Naz who has a lot of say.

Looks pretty solid mate & very good in the air, worth a try.
Although I didn`t mind the look of Marco Moric up at Maitland...

I cant agree this time Cafe. I dont like the look of Moric at all. He looks well below HAL at this stage.

Wow, okay
I’ll take your word for it pinklady as you’re right more often then not. My opinion was based off Staj’s praise of him in the back end of last season...

Just as long as he’s sharper, quicker, more technical and only worries about scoring goals I’ll be happy.
If our midfield continues on from the Maitland game in being dynamic and extremely fast, he SHOULD profit a lot.

Early this morning Shaun tweeted teasing announcing the next visa signing which would imply it's a done deal. Hopefully we'll see some news today, ideally before it gets lost in the noise about the draw release.

So Ozhammer and pink lady - does this mean we have a Serbian striker AND a Serbian DM??
Our Serbian signing was described to me as ‘a midfielder’ perhaps that meant attacking midfielder. The source that said this was VERY solid, so I have no reason to doubt them but let’s see what unfolds.

I can’t see there being two visa signings tbh.

I agree mate,at this stage he looks well below HAL level but he looks big and strong has decent control and is pretty quick.
With 2 years in NPL and some late substitions in HAL during the back end of the season, I think he could be something.
Especially now we have a decent striker to mentor him...

Oz is usually spot on with his information. :overheadl:
The source that told me about the Serbian striker at the fan forum @Ettalong looks to be on the money too.
We`ll know when he`s announced though.
