    ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

    If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

    ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners Partnership with Club Tuggerah

I've just heard that Wyong RSL members will vote on the 14th December about entering a partnership with CCM. It involves Club Tuggerah and other land in the area becoming their "Centre of Excellence" and I guess their clubhouse in future?

Not sure of all the details ATM but sounds like some of the things mentioned in other posts in the past may be about to happen!

Yer mum just got the letter to she is going to vote and my grandmother haha.
I will be gun if it happenes.
Do any other club have this kind of "centre"?

Cut off date would be on the day, and I'd imagine that new members would be entitled to vote.

From what I hear it's a done deal as Wyong RSL get a pretty good deal out of it and haven't been going the best lately.

That's FIFA sized isn't it? IIRC min size for world cup is 40k seats...?
correct, which is the reason why we are building are stadium of that size. It is going to be partially funded by the australian government as part of the WC bid

If they have a partnership with Club Tuggerah, does that affect their sponsorship / dealings with Mingara?

Would be very surprised to see a 45k seat stadium on the CC, would be to much of a white elephant.

seems too far fetched to be true
why would anyone build a 45k stadium on the coast knowing it would only be filled to capacity once, maybe twice every decade

Living only 2km from there I love the idea :)

@northerspirit:

If you going to build any sort of stadium, why not make it seat 45k rather than 20k, especially if it helps the world cup bid which is part of the federal government's agenda?

Is the expected attendance so much different to the stadium at homebush (noting also that it was originally built for 110,000).

@Keensy
It is pie in the sky, but I agree it could come to fruition if the federal government want to make it happen.

However, you are exceptionally light on substance with your claim. Furthermore, recently publicised discussions about the Mariners taking over the leasing rights to Bluetongue would seem to counter your claim. Whilst I would like it to happen, its pretty much impossible to believe at this stage.

We shouldn't focus on fanciful ideas, but appreciate the good news that this is.
In just five years the Mariners have turned themselves into a seriuosly professional outfit. In ten years time we'll be able to match it with J-league clubs because of this infrastructural investment.

Totally agree. If it did happen, it would be a white, no a bright fluro yellow elephant.

Looking at google map it looks as though there already a pitch on there. Look like you could fit 1 or 2 more pitch's on there and use the tennis courts for futsal to improve tech and speed. NOT big enough or the best place for a 45 thousand seater stadium.haha
Lets hope it can be our soon and base the academy there as a boarding house/ school/Football Academy.
