ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

seems too far fetched to be true
why would anyone build a 45k stadium on the coast knowing it would only be filled to capacity once, maybe twice every decade

Ummmm, one reason would be to NOT have your home Grand Final taken away from you because you play out of a piddly 20,000 seater would be one.

Couple that with ACL games and the mass of traveling fans from the J-Leagues, no NRL games chewing up the pitch.....the reasons for building one of this size are endless not to mention being optimistic about the future growth of the game over the next decade.

That's FIFA sized isn't it? IIRC min size for world cup is 40k seats...?
correct, which is the reason why we are building are stadium of that size. It is going to be partially funded by the australian government as part of the WC bid

2 key pieces of info in this:

1) Purchase by the JV of certain properties in Wyong?

2) Club name change to incorporate Mariners.

I wonder if we are finally so pissed off with CCF that we are going down another path?

Do a JV to get access to a club infrastructure (and taxation) build a training centre/small ground (a la Budgie) and then look to run a 2nd tier team of our own (NSWPL one day please).

Whats the betting that post matches etc get shifted?

Will we need to look at another affiliation for the Marinators club?

Seriously clever people running this club IMHO

No 45k seater...

Think training pitches, boutique venue for w-league, nyl, etc, gyms, pools, futsal courts, accommodation for visiting teams and trialists, eating/living facilities for them, labs for sports science research, or at least some combination of.

I think it could work a 45k seater.

Apart from the WC and finals matches. Long run closer to wyong than gosford makes sense populationwise.

Allows for the stadium to be used for other events as well.

Could also see RL played there in summer as well. I have no doubt if the feds (and no doubt the state) are going to put some money in, they will sell the land of bluey for a good price, or use that land in their whole redevelopement of gosford thing. I do not think there will be 2 stadiums on the coast if this goes through.
