ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The article is very unclear as to what this all means indicates that the Valad Property Group owns many properties... given he sold it for 2 billion ... but a question should still be asked does this in anyway change the timing of the COE.

You may remember he sold his Scarborough business to Valad in 2007 at the top of the boom for $2billion, and Valad's been struggling to pay him out in full ever since.

That $2 billion will have been assets he sold to them weighed against debts he continued to hold, wouldn't it? His personal worth is not meant to be *that* much - only in the hundreds of millions.

Because we've not really heard anything from Gold Coast Mariners, we've not got anything from them as we can see at the moment, what benefits...?

Who the f**k are the Gold Coast Mariners??

TBH I have no idea ... my point is in something that has a value of 2 billion the COE can only be a small part... at best 3% of assets... and that's after it's built now it's value is zero or the value of council approval on the land usage which would go the land holders i.e. the club...

So how / where / if at all does Valad have to do with the COE .... is it Valad or McCabe name on the Trust Deed... when are calls to be made on cash or are guarantees to be offered and if so by whom...

For mercy's sake the article devotes 10 lines to Valad and another 5 to the Mariners ... hardly enough to make any kinda of call.. Having said that in the interest of good PR especially with the other partners i.e. the council & club ... I feel a statement on the COE who help ... Especially with the lience agreement coming to a close soon and Canberra Gov making all sorts of threats about pulling the plug on World Cup bids (stadium building) if they don't get a team...

Im not worried about relocation.

Valad are not in the mariners trust. McCabe is. If suddenyl he got paid out a lot of cash, even though it was not his preference, surely that just makes it easier to fund things in the short term as he has the cash flow that was suggested to be lacking earlier?

It is also a good time to buy into the market i think, so with his cash he will no doubt be making alot of investments to grow his piece of the pie

A thing I find interesting about the COE is where was McCabe in the picture when the COE was first thought about and why have the Mariners not used their sponsor links to build the centre.
Each investing party would get tax benifits and if they (CCM and Investors) approached it in the right way there are numerous grants that could be available to the developement.
1 Example.Westfields hold a lot of undeveloped land at Tuggerah. Hook into Lowry.
2 The coal companies want to extract half of wyong shire but lack public support. What better way for them to be seen as contributing to the community. Heck we may even become Hyundai Mariners.

So why is all the focus on McCabe???

Because mccabe helped plan, and will help fund it.

A date at LAST from the smh .. right at the end of an article about the Mariners .. 9 December

http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/football/a-league/grit-and-polish-its-all-looking-shiny-for-central-coast/2009/11/22/1258824628363.html?page=fullpage#contentSwap1

And with plans for a world-class academy and training centre at Tuggerah finally expected to be approved on December 9, Gorman says: ''I'm more optimistic about the future than I've ever been.''

:piralaugh: :pirashoot: :pirate: :pirate: :headbounce: :eek:verhead: :vhappy: :innocent:

I don't think it has been mentioned anywhere else but in what I consider a significant move Football NSW seem to have given the Mariners elite academy at Kariong the "license" to run the central coast teams for the under 10 and under 12 age groups in the project 22 competition. If the kiddies got selected they get training 3 nights a week 40 weeks per year free. They will play against other regions on the weekends so they can't play for their local clubs which is a bit of a bummer however a fantastic opportunity both for the kids selected and the Mariners academy. For the mariners and the kids sake I hope this becomes a permanent thing and they get the license for an extended period of time and it gets run out of our state of the art facility at Tuggerah rather than the shambles that is Pluim Park.

I should also mention that the selection trials were very well run. It was a massive thrill for the kids (and the parents watching) to be playing in front of Lawrie, Alex, Hutcho and Doig just to name a few. The little 8 year old keeeper trialing with my son seemed to pick himself with his display so they took him out of the trial early and I believe he got one on one coaching with the mariners goalkeeping coach for the last 1/2 hour. I bet he was buzzing at school the next day!!!

From ABC radio today.

This development got passed through council last night.

Something to do with discrepancies in our sponsorship deal we're also brought up, apparently they are being rectified in the next deal. (new thread worthy?)
