ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Bluetongue needs an atmosphere, 8000 can still make some noise and it soon would turn into 12-14000 if the atmosphere was buzzing, sure the team needs to perform and we all have our opinions of certain players and management etc, but collectively as fans we all want Victories.

I challenge the Coast and Mariners Fans all to join in when the chants go out, give the team a lift !, thus giving the atmosphere at Bluetongue a lift ! We want a great football team, then lets support them like a great football team !

Your average aussie supporter doesn't have a clue what the words are and you can't hear the words unless you know them already.

+1

It might actually help now that the "active" supporters are on the normally quiet eastern side of the stadium.

It will give the handful of resident nutters on that side a hand........eh woodchuck  ;)

Am looking forward to hearing the chants under a roof. I hope it adds a little more to the atmosphere.

I just want to see the crowd above 10K each game. There always seems to be a buzz if the the crowd goes over 10K.

IMO our core support is about 6K (arguably up to 8K). that's the number that will show up every home game regardless of how shit the team is going. Even during those dark, depressing days of the ACL we were still getting 6K to a mid week match to watch some shit football.

If the team gets off to a decent start then I think an average of 10K is not unreasonable and up to 14K for the Bling and the Scum. Lets face it, non core support is very fickle and wont show up to watch a losing team no matter how earnest the effort the team puts in is.

The Christmas - New Year period is when we're either going to see number swell or stagnate. If we're winning then maybe we can replicate that magic period from 07/08 where we were close to getting regular sell outs.

I think the objective for this season is to raise the numbers in our core support. If we can all agree that it is a solid 8-10K then I think it will be a successful season, crowd wise. As that number grows so do our chances of creating atmosphere in the stadium on game day.

Never give up hope to one day have an entire stadium singing as 1.

The Marinators need a definitive song, not just a chant, of which everyone knows the tune - in the "You'll Never Walk Alone" mold of song. Change the words a bit to make it relevant, and perhaps stick the words up on the screen and have a bit of a sing off between the stands before the game starts (would have to be local derby game for good crowd participation). ... just a thought.

Nope, wasn't hiding under a rock this past year, although I think some people on this forum wish I would... lol.

Great song and words .... I luv it sooooo much that it appears before my eyes each time I log on here! Even though I'm not a paid up member of the Marinators, will be singing it.

haha well said.
If the mariners do chant for more than 5 mins each game this season then people may get to know the words, thus more people singing.

Its too soft a song, and too deep. Many voices would find this hard to sing LOUD. Does nothing for me.

Agree entirely, also as it is sung is quite boring and uninspiring.

As much as I am sure I look like a big coldplay fan, you might be surprised that i am not.

There are plenty of songs with easy enough tunes that would be more uplifting. That said, if the bay is like last year getting any song up will be hard, and i thought that though i didnt like it, the effort to try and get that song in was commendable.

That said I am hoping for an epic year for the marinators. With more noise in the bay, and in the kendal. I am very pumped for the upcoming season
