ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

Club has sent an email about the Jets double header on Saturday - bays 23-27 which I believe is the lower tier goal line to half way on the leaguesy side is all reserved for polytec guests. That'll upset a lot of GA members. With a couple of bays for travelling jets fans plus covering one to separate fans that would leave maybe 3 bays on the lower tier for GA.

Interesting. Borg Industries employ around 550 people on the Coast. Maybe tickets for them and their families.

What upset the people that don’t normally turn up.

If Borg can fill a few bays I don’t see anyway negatives. Do we want sponsors who don’t care? If you do GA then you can’t complain as no different to any one else sitting there.
Not sure I agree with that statement entirely, GA is by its very definition general admission, thus open to all on a first come first served basis.

By allegedly blocking out those bays, they become the opposite of GA seating and I think that is the point some are trying to make. Of course GA ticketing comes with the risk that you are not able to sit exactly where you want if someone else has taken those seats before you but this situation is somewhat different if true.

Yep comes with the risk, should we really be negative about our major sponsor filling some bays. So a couple of hundred people will be put out, I’d rather our largest ever corporate sponsor filling some bays. Go and sit with or near in Bay 16, there’s an option. Seems no matter what happens people are just so negative.

Its a balancing act.

And also a good chance for the club to demonstrate its new found commitment to fan communication.

Yes it's good to fill some bays (hopefully they are purchased tickets and not just freebies) but the point is valid that if it's blocked out and reserved, it's no longer GA.

I have no issues with the concept, but it should be communicated to GA ticket holders that this is happening and they may not be able to access the bay in which they regularly sit.

Imagine the debate if a sponsor wanted to block out bays 15-17.

Easy fix. Buy a reserved seat. Simples.
GA is GA.
People who are able to get the benefit of "their" seat because our crowds are shit shouldn't whine when the GA section functions exactly as it says on the tin.
These are probably the same people who get upset if someone is in "their seat" if there is a big crowd.
I know people who were bumped from 16 at the home semi due to the camera then had to see those same seats resold to randoms.
It happens.

The issue was never a specific seat this is a major chunk of the stadium. There was plenty of uproar around here when people were shifted due to stadium membership but there’s no consideration in return for those in GA being bumped to the top tier or behind the goals.

It’s one game and not the end of the world but still pretty shit for the decent amount of members who normally use those areas.

But it's not functioning as intended.

If it was, then if I normally sit there and I am first through the gate I should be able to sit there. Not I am first through the gate but this bay is out of bounds.

GA is literally first come first served.

Not first come but this bay is reserved by a sponsor.

Like I said I'm not against the concept but to pretend it's the same as some random walking up first but still having the option of sitting in a relatively similar seat in the same bay is just nonsense.

When you purchase a GA ticket you have no seat only restrictions where you can sit. GA does not entitle you to diddly squat as you have to be prepared to sit where ever you can. That’s the risk. I don’t think it needs to be communicated to what 2% of ticket holders. We get what 6k to a regular game, won’t it be nice to have what appears to be a full stadium for our local derby. Big picture people.

. which is why i am more annoyed with the ACLE seating ... which was sold as GA without knowing the restrictions and it was for more than one game

. not only is there no upper deck ... when i did arrive early wary of the impending ACL weather the top of the bays were blocked off by security

ACL a totally different story as that is pure penny pinching. Agree that should have been communicated better as well as the lack of food and bev options.
