ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Let's get Bosnich!!

Hell yeah, I think Reddy would be a go, though I doubt he will go for a short term deal and if he cant get a deal at Brisbane, i think he will go next door to GCG or NT for a gig

I would hate to see that cheating thug at our club. Ex scum and a violent sneaky wanker. If you wouldnt want Griffiths or Holland, how could you even stomach the thought of him.

Or, Bradley Jones (Middlesborough).

Loved his work playing for Australia vs. Uruguay in 2007 - it was specccial. :tv: ;D

No fkn way to Reddy, cant stand him.
I would gladly take Bosnich, he has worked his ass off for the last year trying to clean his name and get back into keeping, i hardly think he would have a chip on his soldier when people dont even give him the time of day at our humble club...

i'd say we still have to give trott and redmayne a go. If they go good in off season training we might not need a new keeper untill danny comes back

That good sir is a "yes" type of far(x20)rkin'.

If we don't have any chance of getting VanStratten, then I'm all for giving Redmayne some game time.  Being the current U20's keeper has to mean something...... right??

I suppose I'm in the minority, but I'd be happy to give Trott a run in pre season before judging whether another goalie needs to be on the books as a senior player (Redmayne's one of the juniors).

Now, before everyone starts jumping down my throat yelling "10 goals in 2 games!", remember that he did alright against Qld up in Qld and did brilliantly vs. Sydney down in Canberra.

Matt is a confidence player. Being brought on for Danny (btw, has there EVER been a goalie sent off [straight reds] twice in the one season in a national domestic comp.?) in the Sydney match, his confidence was shot for the next one for sure.

And the other issue there is the difference in styles between Danny and Matt. Matt is more the traditional shot stopper whereas Danny is an almost counter attacking sweeper! As a result the defence line gets used to Danny being so far forward in the box and even out of the box. They move forward to accomodate Danny's mobility.

But, if you all of a sudden replace Danny with Matt, there will be a significant gap between the defence line and the goalie -as Matt stays more back towards the 6 yard box. I think that's what was happening in the Sydney game, not sure about the Melbourne game as I didn't see it (and my mate kindly told I wouldn't want to!). The defence line has to be used to staying further back for Matt, if they hadn't been drilled on that, Matt would have lost confidence coming out as far as Danny and not played his natural game (hesitation would come in).

So all that said, I've seen Matt do some brilliant work in the nets and am quite prepared to see if he and Redmayne can fill the void left by Danny's suspension.

I don't want Trotty in goals, he simply doesn't look like a quality keeper. Our other boy should be given a run before Trott.

I rate Reddy very highly, even if he is an ex Scummer. The other Scum reserve keeper Ben Kennedy looks a better option than Trotty.

Bosnich would fail the dick head test but i'd like to trial him and see if he's still got it (talent not drugs). Our other keepers would learn a lot from him even if we only had him for 1 season.
