LAST GAME VS ADELAIDE

Just back and I must say, thats the most enjoyable game of football I have watched for some time.

I concur, perhaps because the result was relatively irrelevant to us but would have enjoyed it more if (any of our) strikers could do what they're paid to do in front of goal.

Probably would feel more confident if the next two were repeats of tonight than agains in in-form Roar / Van Dijk. But we've got to beat both (and Melbourne) to get the seat.

Airfares are cheaper to Brisbane...

wow marinators rearly failed tonight and were friggin embarising most of the game i could hear the 100 or so reds supporters from bay 15. time for wholesale change to marinators.

I wont dignify this with the venom it deserves but my observation from 40...

Credit where its due to the travellig Reds fans (sorry about your premiership) - for your numbers (I'd say less than 100) you made some good noise. In no way thought were the Marinators out done and sounded fairly strong. Pleasingly the whole western stand got into it more than usual. I thought 12000 was a good effort for this game.

TBH, I think our chances of beating Qld over 2 legs, then having to beat both MV & Adelaide away are "remote"

Stringers was easily the MOM. Great effort from him for only his third game this year (and I'm not a big fan of his at all). Danny and Boogs just behind him.

I'm not sure it's purely our defence that is the problem this season. All season long, we've turned the ball over without pressure countless amounts of time in midfield which has put our defence under needless pressure. Defending doesn't start and end with the back four.

Reasonable effort compared to the dross in the last couple of weeks:

1. Danny 7.5..good game apart from the falcon which showed him at his flat-fooetd worst.
2. Porter..6...not bad and tried hard but is a limited type of player.
3. Bojic...6...didn't see him after about 20 mins...who replaced him??
6. Wiko...6...not his worst apart from being to made to look a bit of a monkey on the goal.
5. O'Grady 8...MOM...Excellent...what i'd expect from a centre back every game but we rarely see at BT. Top effort.

7. Gumps..6.5....solid game...probably wishes he had better quality around him...i know i do!
8.Hutcho..5.5...average at best
11. Caceras  5.5....another relatively poor effort from a player that should/could dominate
4. Boogs..6....showed some quality but is never going to be Jedi and as i said b4 CB's NEVER make good centre midfield players.

9. Simon...6.5....fair game
10. D-Mac...4.5....rubbish tonight

Subs...Nik 5...annoying. Owens..6... still looked better than Osman.

Disagree with comments about Nik. The distribution and passing from midfield was worse than shit not much you can do there unless you except him to chase everything  and run out of juice.

Wilko is an embarrassment! Younis made him look stupid regardless of if he was offside or not! NO HEART worst skipper in the league!

Highlight of the night has to be Boog's tackle on Pantelis from behind in the box... Ballsy to say the least, just inspirational. Learn to tackle Wilko and we might be ok next week!

Sorry Ursus, Wilko was a liability (not for the 1st time TBH) and Nik coming on made us change our shape from a solid looking 442.

Pedj needed to be spared card trouble but Nik was lazy, half arsed and disinterested like he was at Melb.

Wow, Ursus riding a high horse...... I'm shocked.  Wilko was rubbish mate, deal with it.  Stringers was screaming at him to get in the right positions all night - hardly inspiring stuff from a captain, yet again.

Speaking of Stringers, he was :O ;D 8) - if that's what playing for a contract does to a player, then get everyone on week to week deals!!!! 

There was about 20 cumulative minutes tonight where we played on the ground, channel running and off the ball movement, sexy football.  Why didn't we persist with it??  Why did we resort to passing it around the back four, then either Wilko or Danny would hoof it??  Play it out from the back ffs, you might be surprised what happens......

As funny and awesome as Danny's falcon was - it beckons the question, why was he standing there watching the ball nearly go in??  I would say it's another example of his flat footed approach to keeping perhaps??

The bay tonight was.......... okay.  Considering it was a dead rubber, I was expecting far worse.  Nice overall crowd as well.  Surely we'll sell out the semi??

Serious - what level do you keep at. Have you ever done it at a decent senior level. Fact is a well taken FK from just outside the box that goes over the wall (and at the pace it was hit) is almost impossible to stop, Danny had no play on it and was wishing the ball out.... I watched him and he wasn't flat footed - was definitely on his toes... Now back to your review please....

I thought Porter was one of our better players last night, was way better than just a 6...

DMac a 4.5 - I think we need to be mindful of the amount of work he gets through, really he may have seemed of but the distribution was crap...
