My sources are telling me that Matt Trott has been linked to Real Madrid after his release from the mariners where he is guaranteed of a starting spot over Iker Casillas :p

How many games did we win when tommy started getting first team action? He is a good player, but rarely won us a game.

*shakes head in disbelief*  Have we been watching the same team for the last three years??  Pondeljak was our best player bar none...... most of the time, he was the reason players were able to get into goal scoring positions because of his awesome assists and general No. 10 play.

Omni - shut the f*ck up you nonce.  Your whole "we wouldn't be in ACL if it wasn't for Kwasnik" argument is flawed at best.  What about _if_ Aloisi hadn't got a double against Adelaide.  Or what _if_ Tommy hadn't run the length of the field to stop that 60 yard shot on goal against Sydney because the rest of the team couldn't be bothered??  What _if_ Tommy hadn't scored that cracker against Melbourne to win 2-1??    Or what _if_ Hutcho didn't get his double against Sydney to erase the deficit??

Oh, and go and read Sydney's forum - you'll find that most of them aren't the biggest fans in the world of Alex Brosque.  Ditto for Melbourne and Allsopp/Thompson...... especially re: the season just gone.

Idiot.

Tommy added an attacking flair in the middle we lacked without him. But in the 2nd half of the season, despite him starting regularly, and aloisi scoring 7 goals, we picked up very few points. Fact is he did not win us many games.

Tommy saved one scored one so that some how erases the 6 kwassie scored, and anything else he did during the season? That makes no sense whatsoever.

The fact is won more games with hutch and jedi in the middle than with tommy there. He got forward but often left us exposed. Something hutch used to do but curbed it last season.

I think we can live without Kwassie TBH, whilst Elrich (IMHO) is an unfit, idle bludger who I predict will fade to the bench after 6 games (should be in the prediction thread), we have cover for Kwassies position and if Wellington offerred him reasonable $$ - good luck to him.

What today showed is that our squad is screaming for a player of Tommy's quality, his loss is massive.

Mind you, if Kwas has gone for sure, we need another scapegoat. All clubs have one and I vote Elrich.

IMO this is a huge loss and now is putting an all or nothing look on Caceres and Elrich both stepping up and proving consistency AND goalscoring...if they don't meet the lofty expectations we all place upon them we could be in trouble IMHO...by the looks of this thread there aren't many pro-kwasnik fans but i certainly am as he has proved to be the player that has stepped up and scored the crucial goals and despite his sometimes apparent lack of ability i reckon the guy is hugely talented just lacks decision-making on occasions...that said though i'd take the bad kwassie moments knowing that he is just as likely to pop up and score or create a chance

do we seem to be looking for a replacement winger/2nd striker??? cos we seem to be light on the wings/AM positions and injury could once again be our curse

i definantly reckon he is the bargain buy of the A-League and i'd love nothing mroe than for him to bang them in against us at bluetongue in spite of all you anti-kwas members...how can you poss hate someone who gives 100% and play with injuries unlike a lot of others on the team (not that i'm trying to start anything against the likes of tommy p, gumps etc)

I have absolutely no lofty expectations for Elrich, I expect him to deliver what he has at his other clubs. f**k all.

I dont think anyone "hated" Kwassie, it was mainly frustration I believe. He is a nice guy and a genuine tryer. I have never heard anyone claim other wise. Mind you, if I had a $ for every "oh for f**ks sake Kwassie" uttered in the last 3 seasons I would be a v rich man.

i don't have to tell you that i support kwasnik cause it's in my name, i am absolutly shattered if he really is going but at least at wellington he will get more game time then here, sad to see him go but i am still behind the mariners all the way. i just hope that Elrich and Caceras can live up to their reputations and deliver for us constantly. Good luck to you kwassie if your going and if not then please stay, i can dream can't i

Read on YF forum, he had the right to an extra year on his contract given the number of games he played in Hal 3, but it was his choice. Nix offered heaps more by a long way than the Mariners and he signed yesterday as said earlier in the forum.

There's more to it than just more money being offered, it was poor management by the club

Sometimes I wish we had that screen the Manager section in FIFA 08 gives you that says how long everyone is signed on for, it would come in handy a lot.

You would hope that LM has a transfer or bloody good loan signing already done with Kwas gone.  There is no way in hell that a manager should let go the clubs top goal scorer for a season that should be bigger than any other.
A big mistake from Kwassie IMO. With the competition for his spot greater than ever, it would have created a brilliant opportunity for his improvement. Also after a season of competing for his spot (and who knows with injury could be a starter sooner rather than later) would have finished this season with the brilliant opportunity of an asian shop window.

I don't know who made the bigger mistake, LM or Kwassie.
