ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I even fail as a pachyderm, I thought the game was on tonight -so it may well hit 38 degrees tomorrow, and that will suck.

and i can't read small print anymore either....

on another note, Fyfe is out now, and perhaps Dodd for other reasons.

Barbieri, meh.

Just dropping by...

For purists, one expects this to be a great game. Here we see two sides who can play excellent football and, on top of that, this is a season where the league's standards have been pushed well up.

I find little to nothing to fault in the Mariners this season. For many, the appointment of Graham Arnold was greeted with cynicism and scepticism, but I think everyone is glad to be proven wrong on that one. Maybe up front, earlier in the season, but even so Kwasnik and Simon have been scoring. If there's one area the Mariners have over United, it's in defence.

So I won't be predicting any result here just yet!

i expect our midfield and forward line to dominate adelaide, whether we can contain their attacks will be the key to us winning.

they have a horrible back four, only sticky-taped together by the presence of galekovic.

big loss in fyfe!

3-1 and 3 points to the mariners. :pirashoot:

The rumbles get louder
You would think after back to back wins, which in turn ended a record losing run and created an A-League scoring record things could not be any better at Adelaide United.

Well it seems nothing could be further from the truth.

The Adelaide United players to a man, are manifestly unhappy with the way current contract discussions have been handled, and it’s only a sign of the team’s professionalism that the off field dramas haven’t translated to on field performances.

It’s amazing what “cracks” winning matches “papers over.”

Several sources have confirmed the same details; Travis Dodd, Paul Reid and Adam Hughes are shattered at the once off “take it or leave it” offers they have been given.

As I understand it, there have been none of the ongoing discussions you would expect with contract negotiations, so as a result, the key trio will be in new colours next season.

There’s even been a suggestion that coach Rini Coolen has been given “too much power” and has now “lost the players”.

Well it was hard to tell that on Friday night because the things were going so well on the field, as it did in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago.

It’s hard to tell too from his record as a coach because since taking his first senior role, he has never really stayed anywhere for a long time.

After seven years as an assistant coach at current Dutch Premier League Champions FC Twente (1999-2006) he had spells two first division clubs; AGOW Apeldoorn (2006/7) and RBC Roosendaal (Nov 2008-2010).

He guided Twente to sixth in the 2004/5 league campaign, but resigned in February ‘06 with the club struggling in 13th position.

Twelve months later Coolen had been and gone from Appeldoorn, which ultimately finished bottom of the first division. His 18 months at Roosendaal—one of the division’s smallest clubs–resulted in 11th and 16th place finishes.

They are only modest achievements and it’s interesting to note Coolen has left his past three coaching jobs mid-season.

Of course, people learn from experience and just maybe Rini Coolen has done just that and found a perfect fit in Adelaide United.

But in a new league still trying to establish itself with fans and the media, there is not a lot of room for mistakes.

The combination of new, business savvy if not football savvy owners and a relatively unproven coach could spell trouble, but could also be exciting.

At this stage though they all deserve some time because so far, things on the field are going well.

So, as long as Adelaide keeps winning and maintain its push for second spot, the lid may be kept on “other matters.”

But once the season ends and we find out who stays and who goes, and maybe even why, the jury might have to reconsider their verdict on Adelaide United’s season and just what kind of team Rini Coolen is building.

I want us to win but I also want us to play well; if we are up for it and mentally are positive then we have nothing to fear. I am looking forward to another A League cracker of a game and hoping very much that we prove ourselves second only to Brisbane

This is going to be THE test. Winning this will prove that we can handle the big games against the big teams - in short, winning this will prove we can win the grand final.

Losing doesn't mean we can't, but it'll hurt - and probably hurt our confidence more than anything else.

really excited about this, I hope I can find a decent online feed...

Agreed Capn... this is our strongest starting line up, something that the Reds can't boast. IF we lose, we can always point to playing away and the heat... but it will still be a dent to our confidence. I'm nervous... but lets get real here, if I was told in Rd 1 that I'd be nervous about being in 2nd, playing 3rd for a place in the top 2.... I'd be f**king stoked!!!! :pirashoot: :pirashoot: :pirashoot:

COYY!!!

Both goals absolute quality and the play leading up to that intercept by Casio was unbelievable. The Mariners appear to be getting better and better. So proud to be a Mariners fan at the moment. :pirashoot: :eek:verhead:

However, there's still at least 45 minutes of play left and anything could happen in this heat. Hopefully the Mariners have conserved enough for the second half and that Arnie is switched on enough to counter whatever tactics confront him.

Playing out of our skins!!! Expect big changes at half time from the reds however, Flores may actually switch on and sting us but if we keep this up and mcbreen puts away some headers, we are looking good!!!

I've got a feeling we are going to have someone sent off however, u heard it here first
