ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Maybe signage on acceptable behaviour?
I've generally been impressed with our fans behaviour but I'm not keen on returning with my wife and kids after some of the language yelled out by other mariners fans tonight.(eg F*cking P*ssy", "Ref is a F*cking W*nker")

The club needs 'bums on seats' but if it isnt somewhere I feel I can take my kids, I'll buy Foxtel or go to the movies.

I assume you wont go to any other sports at all then?

FFS, toughen the f**k up, its a football ground. Pay for seats down the side with the other mutes.

We WERE 'down the side' near half way. We shelled out around $90 for the seats. (I wasnt referring to the Marinators bay in my original post).

So the thing is if the language in the 'mute' section isnt suitable for little kids, dont you complain when crowd numbers are down and the viability of our club is at risk.

By the way, 'toughen the f*uck up, its a football ground' doesnt really address the issue of children. I can deal with the language but kids shouldnt have to.

One of the reasons the NSL beacame a basket case was because families didnt feel safe amid a bunch of fools who thought chucking flares and  ethnic riots were recipe for a great night out.

"I assume you wont go to any other sports at all then?"  No, what else IS there apart from soccer?
My family goes to winter soccer comps every week and dont hear that garbage.
We go to indoor comps in the off season and dont hear it either. However the pinnacle of the sport in the region is  watching the game at Bluetongue!

Foxtel is looking better and better.

Maybe THOSE families should have just 'toughened up' too?

As for changes to the stadium, id like to see the palm trees removed and extend the seating right round, so you'd have an away end.

No way they are what give the park atmosphere apart from looking over the water on a balmy summers day they are Grahame park (sorry bluetounge). And it would move the away side behind the  goals.

    :redcard: :redcard: :naughty:
you cannot get of the palm trees for the ground

Local gods! Even Aloi$i new that to gain acceptance from the supporters he had to celebrate with them after his first goal.

Well the good news is that there are no flares at BT or ethnic battles so nothing to complain about is there?

Yes there is something to complain about.
If the behaviour of a minority of fans makes attending matches undesirable by other fans and their families, the finances of the club suffer. (eg You need a lot of 'bums on seats' at each home game of the season to pay the cost of a good marqee player).

No amount of 'toughen up because its a football ground' advice will make fans want to bring their families back (to NSL matches OR Bluetongue)...instead comments like those legitimise poor behaviour by imbeciles.

We dont see/hear this rubbish in any other local soccer comp (amateur  winter and summer indoor) and its disappointing to have the Bluetongue experience lessened by a bunch of fools who yell out expletives.

OOps, pressed 'Post' before replying (slaps forehead).

Hi DT,
I've always called it soccer- I guess old habits die hard. (I STILL dont feel comfortable with Advance Australia Fair as the national anthem -I  prefer God save the Queen, I must be getting old)

+1

Another reason why bay tickets should be sold with a warning. For those who don't want to hear that, (although i sit on the sideline and can let the language fly) dont sit there!

they are sold with a warning, theyre sold at a premium price which is good enough warning.

Fruibat, or fruitcake??

P.S.  Your quip about the viability of the club being at risk because our crowds are down........ really??  You read the news at all??  40 million dollar investment over the next couple of years??  Record levels of sponsorship??

P.P.S  And as much as it makes me  in horror, I agree with Keensy.  Kids hear far worse at school and on television.  Perhaps being exposed to this early will turn them into a passionate FOOTBALL fan when they grow older, and they'll come join us in the bay.

Having said all that, I think that 2 or 3 bays that are designated "Family" areas would be a good thing.

They would be dry (obviously) and home fans only. Any bad language wouldnt be tolerated by security. We need to cater for everyone so if they are prepared to pay a premium as well..........

Whilst I would suffer more than anyone, I would gladly support the club if they decided to close the bars at HT or not sell full strength.

You think? You cant get full strength after HT at either the scumdome or Telstradome. If we turned down a reported $1.3m shirt sponsorship from a grog company because of our family "image", I dont think this is too big a step.

And if the Mariners are serious about catering to all their fans, then it's somethign they need to do.

Push it one step further....why not have the whole stadium dry?

Can't folks stop drinking for the time they are in the stadium, particularly as there is a Leagues Club only across the road should they really want to drink some grog. ;D
