GRAND FINAL TICKETS

Wow, this looks all pretty intense stuff to get where you want to sit.

I am thinking coming to the club tonight to become a marinator member (something I should have done somewhere in the last three seasons!), so i can buy tickets thru you guys on friday, I only want 4-6.

I really want to sit in our "home" end for the GF and make some noise and raise some banners. I couldnt stand having a family of bogans in front of me for the last game of the season.

Is this my best option, seeing that i am not a mariners member?

you will still need to be a Mariners member or my football member (whatever that is), or 1 of the people you are buying tickets for will have to be (4 tickets pp too)

Ok, we have been allocated a block of 300 tickets in Bay 23 from the back, to approx half way down the bay.

  • The condition we have been allowed these is that for every 4 sold, we will need to provide a 'Mariners membership' or 'My Football' number.
  • These membership numbers CANNOT have been used to purchase Grand Final Tickets previously.
  • These are available to Marinators Club members only (you can join before you pay if you wish)
  • These tickets are not to be re sold on any website, forum, ebay means etc or we will not be permitted to do this again.
  • Tickets to be paid for between 6pm - 8pm Friday 15th in Kendall Bar and will be distributed next week. If you can't get in there, get someone to come in for you.

All eyes are watching people, lets fill this bay with LOTS OF YELLOW NOISE!
[size=10pt]
[glow=red,2,300]PM me with your name, forum name, mariners member number, cclc number, mobile ph number, and how many tix you want and I will formulate a list so on Friday all you need to do is to be ticked off the list and pay your $'s.[/glow]

Members are getting totally screwed over here. One major selling point for memberships is priority finals tickets. What good is that if they only give us the shit seats?

Well we do have priority to buy a ticket......but sadly people can't choose where in the stadium that want to go.

If a mariners member is platinum why would they wanna buy a seat in bay 22 or 23? Common sense would suggest they would want to be in the middle of the ground? Yes? No?

I believe more options should have been made available for our members considering we won the right to host the final.

Bay23 Row D - 4 tickets. If we get told off for standing, we're squishing in at the back

I dare you to say that to Roddy LOL

I must have been lucky on the phone to get exactly where I wanted  :vhappy:- western side, Marinator end, as far side-on (for the kids) that family / concession tix would get. Maybe (apart from being really sucky on the phone) its because I said "I've just read on the Mariners Forum that somebody has bought tickets in Bay 17, would it be possible...")

If you think the prices for the GF are bad spare a thought for those going to the game this weekend.  A mate tells me that EAS has been under $30 all season.  All of a sudden semi tiks were $35 and now the tiks are $45.  What gives?  If this isn't a blatant grab for cash then what is?  Are we getting anything extra for the extra $ (apart from the gray hairs)?

I think its reasonable to expect to pay more for Finals Series matches as more prestige events but the kick up to $85 (which I didn't pay) would come as a rude shock. However, I would have gladly added an airfare / accomodation if we were playing a GF interstate.

Well those of you who may remember my old man from season1, he's doing it again!

Fying out from London to arrive Saturday morning and off home on Tuesday LOL, some people can't get from Gosford to Sydney for the game.......but this crazy pom is coming from London to Sydney......there's some dedication for you!

Hopefully this final can send him home on a happy note!

Hope so too! He totally has my respect. (He's on the ground a day more than I was in London for Zeppelin ;)). Economy?

Stressful day for many of us as it appears from the posts.  I was lucky and was able to go to a Ticketek in Sydney ( will remain nameless).  Was first in line as no Bling FC supporters were there - wonder why!  Was lucky to pick up 4 tickets in Bay 24 ( Northern Balcony) Row A with my membership.  the lady then allowed me to buy another 4 in the Row behind using a friends legitimate membership no provided I paid cash.  Great result.

Still needed another 4 tickets for my son and his mates who want to join in with the Marinators ( happy to stand and sing) and was able to go online and quote my membership no. ( again) and the Online site allowed me to buy 4 tickets in Bay 23 in row F ( 16-19).  they obviously are selling the tickets at the front of Bay 23 in front of the Marinators block.

do not have my Marinators membership - yet!  You guys have done an excellent job - marshalling the troops and tickets etc since the weekend and are a credit to the Marinators and the Mariners and deserve a humble victory on sunday week.

to be honest, make sure you got tickets for bay 23. I dont think anyone will check to see if your in the correct row/seat.

mate I wouldn't be so sure after the semi final games - people get there early and pile in like normal and then others come in and claim their seats, leaving a big mess of people sitting/standing, with/without tickets for that bay/seat, all squashed in together.

I hate finals football.

. apologies in advance 'cause this is likely to be a big post and is generally not direct quotes but my recollection of heated conversations

. well today has been a royally unpleasant experience and it seems to be the same for many others. brief summary: got rained on, lined up for tickets approx. 1.5hrs before kickoff, couldn't buy tickets anywhere near where we wanted, bought tickets elsewhere, found out later tickets were now available near where we originally wanted (but no refunds or exchanges are available), rang mariners, rang ffa, rang mariners, received return call from ffa - i now feel worse than when we lost to sydney 5-4

. ffa viewpoint is that they released enough tickets for mariners members (10,000 was the number quoted to me) they think this is reasonable and held tickets for their various contractual and operational obligations

. they did not release tickets on the western side until asked to by the mariners, apparently this was done at 9:05 this morning (mariners did not know beforehand). however at approx. 9:30 (from personal experience) these were still not on sale - ffa have blamed ticketek

. apparently the ffa have only ever committed to providing mariners members the option to buy tickets and have certainly never committed to make available tickets in any particular location or even any particular elevation (in other words they could have only offered say bays 56 & 44 for mariners members, so long as it accomodated the 3000 odd members - it was their perogative). apparently we should be eternally gratefully that we were offered such a broad selection as we have because this is the gf and they have certain contractual and operation obligations to meet ... did i mention that already? oh and while we are at it, it is very affordable compared to blah, blah, blah ....

. yes the best seats really depend on personal perspective, so there is nothing to say the western seats are any better than the east - but what about the sun? oh kick-off is not until 5pm, sun will almost be gone then .... or maybe after 7 when the game is over?

. this is probably mostly illegible but i am still shaking with frustration and spent a good 20-25 minutes on the phone to nick from the ffa + another 15 (maybe, slammed the phone down before looking) to jane from the ffa (yes she of drum related infamy)

. if you want to know any other details, let me know - it is hard to cram all that talking into a post but we did tend to run around in circles a bit

imagine if the grand final was at bluetongue stadium!!!!!

makes a mockery of those people (*cough**belind neale**cough*) who publically stated the grand final should be in gosford

they will sell out SFS easy even if QLD make it

It's not just the bandwagonners around us in this case. Mariners MEMBERS are being sold tickets all in a few bays, and can't get tickets where they normally sit if they normally go on the side in the middle. Also when it opens to the public if you let it slip you are a Mariners fan you will be lumped into these few bays.

Basically the FFA are saying thank you for being a loyal member of your club but f**k you you're not important enough to get any special treatment, in fact you will take these shit seats and you will be happy we are letting you have any in the first place.

I'm glad you are confident. It very much remains to be seen.

Yep, Sydneysiders won't pay to go see their own team during the regular season, so why would they pay 2-3x the price (of a ticket during the season) to watch two other teams in the grand final?

Maybe the FFA has interests in butcher shops because there will be plenty of bbq's on with people watching the game at home rather than going.

I shudder to think how shit we'd have been treated if Sydney ended up qualifying this Sunday........ do you think we'd have been able to get any at all, or would they just have been released in one big frenzy on Monday??

FFA = Football F*ckup's Australia, Farcical Football Australia, Frank's Funding Account

Etc. and so forth.
