ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

GA and the Russians

I have been playing there consistently twice a week since it has opened and no summer injuries to report like I used to in futsal or indoor soccer.

Surface is very good for an old man.

Soccer5's will also help develop a players all round game. Unlike Futsal that seems to produce 1 footed players who cant/wont defend

......................Russians were there last night, If I had to guess (repeat guess), its the same deal that fell over late last year.

Sale of an interest in CoE and some of that being used to fund the club until the next TV deal.

If that works out, then we are cooking with gas. Sounds like some people have taken some advice that it's better to hold a smaller stake of something than be owners of nothing.

If we can keep the club ethos and personality, we're looking f**king fantastic for the future. This would be a far better outcome than an all up sale to unknowns (and remember, we don't know who these people are!).

I don't mind the notion of PT being there, but cash is what we need and if this is the way we get it, I'm a happy boy.

Let's close off the season by pulling in a couple of trophies and begin the dynasty.

Given that its a sale of the CoE stake (possibly, maybe, perhaps) dont be holding your breath for a big announcement (if at all).

The original deal with Sabina was PT and Macca selling 35%, in the COE development to concentrate on the Football Club. Where do the profits go from the COE?

It started out as a question,

So they are buying Turnbull' and McCabe's 35% share in the Nariners Development trust?

And now all of a sudden it is reality and "The Russians" are buying COE and shafting Central Coast Mariners FC.

The only thing "obvious" in this thread is we don't know the details so we are just guessing based on very limited evidence.

That's fine, but don't pretend it's anything other than that.

Turnbull nearly sold the same interest to Sabina in Oct 2011.
The second link details ownership of the development.
The Mariners FC Developments unit Trust (owner and developer)
30% held by LNL-Gorman
35% held by Ryer- Charlesworth
35% held by Mariners FC Unit Trust-Turnbull and McCabe

The Mariners FC Developments unit Trust also holds a 64% interest in the Central Coast Mariners Football cub.

I'm not saying you're wrong, in fact you make a good case, the Sabina deal falls over so we target the Russians for the same deal, but it's only guessing. (edit: I think we started hearing about Russians around the time that deal was cancelled?)

Also the doom and gloom bit - if they buy into The Mariners FC Developments unit Trust, why would they shaft Central Coast Mariners Football Club if they have a 64% interest in it?

It's fun discussing what may or may not be happening, but I won't be jumping up and down about anything until I hear something official.

Yeah that is right they potentially wont shaft the Mariners. As long as it stays at 64%?? (ps who owns the rest??)
