ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

GA and the Russians

Meat head kids and fat kids with no ability to play Football....that's who play league.

My son has played Football and League and enjoyed both but it's still cooler as a kid to play league. But don't fret when I first came to Oz more than 20 years ago NO kids played football. You would never see kids with a round ball the beach or picnic area. We would start kicked the ball around 5 a side and after a while a few chockos would ask to join in. Now it's more common than Seeing kids with a rugby ball.

Football has come a long way in a short time....in time it will be the dominant code.

I agree that the times, they are a changin'(albiet slowly).

My daughter's school, who has a pro-rugby league principal, has no trouble fielding many teams that want to play football, but for the first time ever, cannot find enough kids to field a rugby league side. This is in so-called 'rugby league heartland'.

Not only that, some of the teachers are wearing shirts with their A-League club logo on it to class. OK, it may be the Scum logo, but it's still football, not the Newcastle Knights.

Music to the ears and eyes!

These are the fans of the future that need to be groomed on loyalty to our code so that child football Club loyalty translates to ongoing adult fandom.

They're smiling.

Walking with a bounce in their step.

Holding documents.

At *our* club.

The pessimist in me thinks they've just come to favourable terms on mutual releases, but the optimist in me wants to break out the vodka.

Looks like both these statements are not true.

GA is waiting for final word about the Russians.

From what I understand a contract has been signed for a takeover. Mind you the Mariners will hardly go and pursue a court case in Russia if the deal gets broken.

last week you said the Russians are gone!!!

I was at Soccer 5's at tuggerah tonight.

Arnie, Mossy and Peter Turnbull were there and no mention of any takeovers.

And just to let you know as that as a player now .....Arnie makes a great coach!!

Clarky scored an absolute screamer.

Also Mel Mac from Foxports is hot and looks really young in the flesh.
Mike Cockerell has a pole up his arse and is not much of a player.
Adam Peacock is a decent player.

Two of the Russians were there however.

Understand that they are property developers with no experience in running a football club.

That is good news.

The set up there is first class and lots of vacant land surrounding the area, hopefully, would get them excited.

Those five aside courts are fantastic! Even WeeMac was casting envious glances and saying that he hopes they will be allowed to train on one.
