ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

My point here is that the proportion of mariners fans who attend games but live in Sydney or Newcastle is miniscule in comparison

I don't want to change this thread into anything but a positive for the move by CCMFC, CCF, and EnergyAustralia - but:

From day 1 a goodly proportion of Mariners fans lived outside the coast, and at one point 20% of members did! Hardly miniscule!!  Alhtough that may have reduced in proportion as the Coast ramped up, it is still significant not miniscule.  Try driving south toward the freeway after a game!  There are also numbers on the train.

We are all one club and one fan base - division is not needed!

Agree totally .... my journey  ,,, Blacktown Demons (Gabbie Park).. Northern Spirit (NSO)... CCM (Bluetounge)...

Move over I posted on page two of the thread that IMO any kid from either Sydney or Newcastle that comes with a playing card  can get in free and CC kids going to Aussie and Scum Park can also get in free... this idea is worth considering after analysis... but would certainly lift crowds at all three clubs and have Rovers do the same next year...

Is good in theory. But having a blanket option would take extra cash away from derbies for the club, and have EA paying for kids who do not see EA as the sponsor and hence i would think it would have little appeal for them. If they limit it to coast kids they can a)keep potential numbers down to a level they can have some certainty with seats, whilst still giving a chance for 8k youngsters to come to the game, b) give EA a market to advertise its support to the community and the club.

A kid getting in for free from sydney when he comes for the derby is not going to give the promotion for the sponsor that the kids on the coast from the local assosiation is.

I would however guess, that there is a chance that if you contacted the mariners with regards to a registered player from outside the CCF, who supports the mariners, they would be happy to accomodate.

Good point, i'm sure they'd be open to that

Completely awesome.

This may well be the move beyond all others that sees our club truly flourishing in ten years time.

Well done CCM.

Just contacted the club about our boys, who have been members for two years and live and are registered in the Blue Mountains and have been offered free Sydney FC memberships, they were told it is only for CCF players.

Come on you yellow.

My young bloke got his yesterday......He is quite chuffed made him feel special so he is as keen as for the season to start....how many other kids will receive there's and then badger their parents who may not normally attend home games to take them along?.....Terrific initiative by the club.

There is one bad thing i have noticed about the memberships and that is the fact that they are limited to a maximum of 3000 per game

I sympathise and can see how this seems inequitable MM but I'd imagine EA (+/- CCM) determined a budget for this initiative and the line drawn in the sand was to cover CCF juniors.

Because they've given something to others doesn't mean they've taken something from you. Your boys will still get the same value for their / your money, hopefully in a more filled stadium.

I'm glad (and I'm sure the club is) that there are many Mariners supporters outside the region. I believe that the CCM's history, culture and the 2010/11 squad easily justifies that. What's been offered here to CCF juniors is actually irrelevant.

As our renewal wasn't 'Family', the full $95 cost of my (U11) son's Gold / same membership number / same reserved seat was free. Nice reward for existing members!

This. He got it yesterday (my daughter and I got our 'normal' memberships last week).

Still free, mind you and (like ours) contained 2x vouchers for complimentary Gold 'Bring a Friend' tickets, valued @ $25ea and $10 voucher for merch on game day. So additional $60 worth!

Unbelievable incentive by Energy Australia and CCM, probably paid for his registration.
