ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Great idea I agree..............but serious question, is anything being done or any offers for the people who have been loyal members of the club since season 1?

I thought I read somewhere that Melbourne were giving some kind of 5 year thank you gift, could be wrong though.

Apparently they have gifts depending on how long you have been a member.

my mate in melb received a 5-year gift

a 5-year pin, then a 10-year pin would have been nice and people would have been proud to show these at games

I sent an email to the membership team before last seasons membership packages came out asking about this here was the response;

Thank you for your email it is always nice to receive correspondence
from the members and your email has certainly given us food for thought.
The membership packs for 2009/10 have been designed and are in
production as we speak so we are unable to add to the member's packs for
this year, but I have spoken to the clubs marketing department and we
have all agreed that we need to do something special for the Foundation
members of the club. So we will start working on some type of
recognition for all Foundation members once we have the normal
Membership program up and running
.  As members like you are very special
to the club and should be rewarded for their loyal support.

As we know nothing ended up happening

In an awesome move it was announced at last night's CCF delegate's meeting that all registered CCF juniors will receive free Mariners' membership.

Kudos to the Mariners for bringing this initiative and the new CCF board for negotiating this.

This has been raised at delegates meetings ever since season one and the response from the Mariners was that they don't want to devalue the brand by giving away something of value that people would buy anyway. Obviously the declining gates last year and Sydney's initiative have caused them to get their act together.

Well done CCF, however the fact that this is big news after 5 seasons is rather sad.

Also, the Club clearly listened to it's distant fan base - not.

Why restrict to CCF? What's wrong with Mariners fans that play as juniors outside CCF? Is it too hard to accept kids as members no matter where they play their Junior Football?

The thought of my daughter Celerystick being rejected by the Mariners and having to sign up for the Scum frankly sickens me.

She loves the blue and yellow, plays in blue and yellow, had a blue and yellow Dad as a member. Not enough it seems.

A good point raised by Celery - and it equally applies to all the juniors on the Central Coast who are not registered players with CCF - those playing for Premier Youth League sides, those playing in NNSW and those in Project 22 squads, along with the Central Coast Lightning players, though I would think they would extend the offer to them at least even though they are not registered CCF juniors.

Anyone with anything more on what constitutes a junior? CCF would say it is anyone registered up to 18s, but the Mariners have higher costs for any members who turn 12 during the A League season - so someone who is an Under 12 this year who turns 13 before the end of March next year is classified by them as Youth/student.

And will there be any sort of discount/offset for those existing members with Family Memberships and will they be able to upgrade their free children's memberships to their current Gold memberships if that is what they hold? Or are they going to force all of the "free" kids memberships in to the GA areas.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Good news - but not the great back slapping doing hand stands announcement that some are making it out to be

You're not serious? Their focus should be on the kids on the coast, not expanding into other territory when they don't have their own house in order. If it's blue and yellow all the way, why not move down here or have her play for Gorokan or whatever they are called. Central Coast kids should be the priority. ANyway blah blah blah rant over.

Why wouldn't he be serious? If this is a deal done between CCF football then the Coast kids get it as you say, but if it was a policy of the CCMFC that all juniors of clubs where the parent is a member then it would be different. At the moment it appears to be the former but why can't we long-term Mariners supporters who live outside the Coast areas serviced by CCF not aspire for our children to be welcome on a similar basis. It may of course never happen!

An rant indeed but an unsightly rant East Ender!

I'm not really interested in gifts and free tickets etc

I'm quite happy to pay for me and my kids tickets (if I can get them interested again).

I'm more interested in getting all our home games at home (happy to pay to get in too).

Kev

You make an excellent point ... you .. got me thinking SFC have a similar system this year ... if Con would also agree ... then some sort of Kids in free if playing across the three clubs...i.e  to provide each player / coach / manager ... in the park teams a card ... when presented they (kids) get a free ticket... would encourage more than the mini bus from the Scum, and more from SFC... same for CC folk going to Aussie and Scumville ...

-------PS  Kev sorry about the lazy writing  ;D .. long week and some JD's ... and thinking of Tomorrows game

bit over the top, imo. you expect CCMFC to find out where every fan in the world lives and give them/their children free memberships? Regardless of how long anyone from anywheres supported the club- the top priority should be consolidating the coast support, not worrying about areas of sydney and newcastle.

No ... CCMFC issue to all CC junior players a players card... so do Jets & SFC... when a player comes with a players card the kid gets in free to all grounds..

Because you said """ you expect CCMFC to find out where every fan in the world lives and give them/their children free memberships? """"

So I explained CCMFC only have to find CC kids .. but will except cards from kids who play in Newcastle and Sydney as they will ours...

Why because it will boost crowds at all games for each club ... meaning help lift the profile and hopefully more mainstream acceptance of football... wait there's more and should also improve rating as viewers see fuller stadiums...

Wise move.
Bigger crowds improve the atmosphere, which makes people enjoy it more, regardless of the football. Clearly parents will pay to come to bring their children.

Nothing beats the whole stadium singing "Mariners *clap clap clap*"
It's not the most creative of chants but 10,000 people singing it is quite powerful.

This great news but there has been no link to a news story or anything which make me think its a bit of a stich up.
How would the kids get there free memberships? Is it like the central coast rugby league. They get a card to scan everytime they go to a game but theres is set at a 5 game limit
