Anyway, it's our own fault we lost the lead - in about the 50th minute I noticed we stopped playing the ball forward and started playing it back; at that point I knew we were doomed.
Kwassie was trying but seems to be lacking confidence again. Late in the game we were panicking too much and nobody would back themselves in the box, just wanted to make the shot somebody else's decision.
First half was great, but we definitely let this one go.

4-2 all up doesnt reflect the way both teams played throught the 190 minutes. We were the better side overall just not on the scoreboard. We took the game to them and didnt we do it good, cant help but think we are going to win it this year. We might have lost to them 3 times this year but we have come and long way. They arent unbeatable we got the 2 goal lead they started fighting between themself and didnt look like the same side.
Back to Bluetongue next week. Back to Suncorp the week after.

irate:I have been away overseas and now I am trying to find a schedule of the finals. All I know is that we will play the winner of the Adelaide, Gold Coast game. Will we host the game at Bluetongue or will it be an away game against the winner of tomorrows game. Or will FFA take the game to SFS? When will the game be played. Sorry to ask but I just dont seem to find a link on FFA Thanks

Obviously not happy about not getting straight though to the grand final but a few things to be happy about:
. Mariners were good. VERY good. In both games. A few inches the right way and we would have had a couple more goals in the first leg and at least one more in the second, could have won both.
. Brisbane were ripping each other to shreds at the end! It's a young side, and I think that they can be rattled, the reason they have kept going is they haven't been pushed all year and they have been able to keep on their game plan and keep winning (or not losing) games. The Mariners actually put a bit of a scare into them and made them start doubting themselves.
. Brisbane get the week off. Some might think this is good for Brisbane, but given the way they were snapping at each other by the end of the game, I think it's great they don't get another game between now and the grand final to "reset themselves". Hopefully they go into the GF in the same mindset as they left the last game in; panicked, needing to win, pissed off at whoever for letting in goals, and generally not confident about winning!

Soooo, we're winning 2-1... what does Arnold & the boys do.... PUSH FORWARD TO GET THE GOAL... which is exactly what NEEDED to be done. Did it really matter if they scored the last goal to make it 2-2... FARK NO... even if it stayed with us winning 2-1, they still would have gone through on a better aggregate over the two games.
All I can say is Bring on Adelaide or Fold Coast... then let us kill of Brisbane in the GF!! No way in hell the boys would have let that game get away from them if we weren't in the sudden death/goal difference/aggregate scenario we were in tonight. If we were 2-0 up, I'm sure as shit the boys would've gone tight at the back and held on for the win!!
