Wierd or what?
There were about 217 'busloads' according to my count and 176 according to FFA count.
:tv:

Is it time for Brisbane's run to end, and if so can we win 3 or 2 and take it on pens?
:piano: Stay tuned

I was using hyperbole, but i guess it's kind of hard to convey humour in text. Nonetheless hoping for some strong travelling support.

guessing that a lot of people might be doing as i am and waiting for the grand final to travel (having rationalised that most likely it will be interstate). for the roar fans, not such an issue as raging favourites to host, they can commit to travelling for the semi and not expect to travel again.

Head-to-Head: All matches (played 21): Central Coast Mariners wins 3, Brisbane Roar wins 11 (7 draws)

· This match sees the Hyundai A-League’s two most successful coaches – in terms of win/loss ratios – come up against each other again, GRAHAM ARNOLD (Mariners) v ANGE POSTECOGLOU (Roar).

Coaches With Highest Win/Loss Ratios (at least 20 matches coached) as at 21 February 2011
2.67 – Graham Arnold (Central Coast Mariners 2010/11) – 31 matches 16 wins/6 losses (9 draws)
2.40 – Ange Postecoglou (Brisbane Roar 2009/10-2010/11) – 48 matches 24 wins/10 losses (14 draws)
2.40 – Pierre Littbarski (Sydney FC 2005/06) – 24 matches 12 wins/5 losses (7 draws)
1.60 – Rini Coolen (Adelaide United 2010/11) – 31 matches 16 wins/10 losses (5 draws)
1.50 – Ernie Merrick (Melbourne Victory 2005/06-2010/11) – 151 matches 70 wins/44 losses (37 draws)

· A win by Ange Postecoglou’s Brisbane Roar this weekend would put Postecoglou on top of the coaches win/loss ratio ladder and set him up to coach his 50[sup]th[/sup] Hyundai A-League match in the 2011 Grand Final.

· Leading into this match, both main goalkeepers MICHAEL THEOKLITOS (Brisbane Roar) and MATTHEW RYAN (Central Coast Mariners) are tied up at 12 CLEAN SHEETS each for the season, which stands as a Hyundai A-League record for most clean sheets for a season. Joining Theoklitos and Ryan is Glen Moss (Gold Coast United) who kept his 12[sup]th[/sup] clean sheet for the season last weekend. A clean sheet is attained when a goalkeeper plays a whole match without conceding a goal.

I hope we don't beat them 3-0.
I would rather go up there for the GF than go to Sydney.

You've got to be kidding!

Nice stadium, but Suncorp NAZI security guards are about the worst in the A-League.

Oh, and Brisbane's a desolate dump compared to Sydney.

It would be bloody awsome to finally defeat them this season and head straight to the gf, but having the week off hasn't done us any favours in the past.

And far, far more awesome to defeat them (their first in 28 matches, including 5 against us) at Suncorp, on March 12 :pirashoot:
This scenario:
26 Feb BR 1-1 CCM (BR win 3-1 on aggregate)
5 Mar CCM 2-1 AU aet
12 Mar BR 0-2 CCM :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead:

Where have we only ever beaten Brisbane in the A-League... SUNCORP

The Central Coast Mariners preparations for tomorrow’s Hyundai A-League 2011 Major Semi Final second leg against Brisbane Roar have suffered a massive blow, with influential striker Matt Simon ruled out after suffering a freak injury.

Simon and his partner had been walking their dog on the eve of the club’s sojourn North, when he stepped on a sharp object, producing a deep cut requiring six stitches.

“There’s a beach near our house where you can take your dogs off their leash, and we have been going every day for the last three months, and I threw a toy in the water but the dog wouldn’t get it, so I was going in to get it, I was knee deep and as I stepped in the seaweed I stepped on something sharp, I looked at my foot and there was a massive cut on it. It’s a really clean cut so the doctor thinks it was probably glass,” said Simon.

“I’m absolutely devastated. We’ve trained well all week and the boys have been really confident that we can go up there and do the job we need to do so I’m really devastated that this has happened at this time.”

That might put him out for a couple of weeks. If we do not win this tie then we could be looking at a side without Matty next week too.

IMHO our play in the final third is better without Matty, most recently evidenced in our 3-0 beating of GCU the other week. Passing etc was a lot more fluent and we looked more dangerous.

if it means youth strikers play then its a +

if it means Mcbreen then its a -

Kwasnik is long overdue a good game, he's pretty well done nothing since being sent off against Victory. We can't afford to carry a passenger in games like this. And I can't believe that Amini is not in the starting eleven - he's too good to sit on the bench

I agree.
I know Kwassie has had an injury but ultimately he is the one that decides whether he is available for selection. If he plays with an injury & is crap(like he has been) then he ultimately gets judged on the performance he hands in,and that for most of us has been disappointing.
McBreen has had one good game for us this year, against the Fold, other than that he`s been very ,very ordinary.

With Matty out it`s time to take a chance, there`s nothing to loose & everything to gain.
IMHO we`d be better served with Bernie & Duke starting.

Amini is a differnet kettle of fish. He is so talented that I think Arnie has to see where the problem is before sending on his "FIX IT" Man.

Fingers crossed we`ll get the money tonight.
Club Tuggerah is looking good at this stage.

Good Luck guys!!!
Play your hearts out!!!!!!!

If we have to have McUseless in the team, and I do not for one minute believe that we do, then he must start. His performances coming off the bench so far have been an order of magnitude worse than his starting performances.
For mine, Bernie & Kwassie to start and Duke off the bench at 60.
