Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

FINALS Game 2 CCM v ROAR

The dust has settled, the wounds are healing & round two is in sight.
I have no doubt that we CAN beat Roar.

We have the style & we have the players. Our last two performances have shown how close we are to beating them.

As said on the round one thread we just need the bounce to go our way.

I said before we were predictable in attack.
Now is the time to hit Brisbane & hit them good.

Forget Mcbreen & Kwassie. They both failed miserably last weekend.
We all know that Matty needs to play week in week out. So keep him up front to pressure the Roar defence in their back third.

Perez, Olly & Wee-mac need another target man(with speed) & it has to be either Bernie or Duke.
I would favour Duke to start with Bernie on the bench. With his speed we can exploit the space behind the defenders to give us another attacking option.
Wemac & Pedj need to attack the by-line (like Rosey) to mix it up a bit, instead of the standard cross from the corner of the box.

Finally we need to take our shots. Passing the ball across the edge of the box may look good & appear unselfish but don`t pass on your obligation with it.

We can do it! Have faith!
As long as McBreen is holding hands with Mrdja in the stands we have a chance!

GO YOU GOOD THINGS!!!

A big concern is going to be motivation, especially after going 2-0 down at home. Some of the lads may well have their eye on the preliminary vs Adelaide or GCU already & have written this one off.

In saying that though, the flip-side of the coin is that it may well give the team some freedom, added creativity, more flair to what we saw on Saturday night, and we could nick something from it. If we pinch an early goal, you never know what could happen.

Not making any predictions on this one, just hoping to see the lads get out there and turn it on.

We've been down 2-nil before and everyone wrote us off but we came back and won 3-0, we can do it again
A bit more difficult than last time. Then we lost the away leg & won the home leg. Also the Scum were nowhere near as good as this Brisbane team.
I don't really mind if we don't win next week as long as the boys don't leave anything in the tank. Make the Roar hope like hell that we don't make it to the GF.

I think we will win this one 1-0 with hutcho coming on as a 70 min replacement only to get red carded in the 85th for taking Mackay out for the rest of the season.

please dont hurt me but i think we have a better chance of winning the grand final if they win/draw this one...that winning streak becomes a monkey on their back in a grand final and beating us 4 times would make them cocky and us even more hungry!

2-2

Just found out game will be shown in the sports bar on the big screen at the leagues club. The kendall bar has a band playing. Love to see a big crowd in the sports bar everyone in there yellow. Could be a very messy night if we win (sorry when we win)

All I can say is that 1st goal is ours on Saturday. Whatever happens after that is up to the football gods.

On Saturday evening I heard that there were 4 busloads of our lot headed north. Hope it's true, with plenty more flying!

for those who are heading up and are wanting pre game drinks, food and friendly banter, there will be a few of us heading to the bohemia bar and lounge on caxton street from about 3pm onwards

I'm skepitical as there was hardly four busloads at the game last Saturday. But will be fantastic if true. I'm tipping 2-0 to us, with us to go through on penatlies. Perez, Dutchy, Glinch, Amini and Hutch to convert.

Wierd or what?
There were about 217 'busloads' according to my count and 176 according to FFA count.
:tv:

Is it time for Brisbane's run to end, and if so can we win 3 or 2 and take it on pens?
:piano: Stay tuned
