Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. Our players are going to give abso-f**king-lutely everything.
Under Poppa it’s money and hard line professionalism, vs our passion and heart.
When it comes to the match, hard to imagine us winning if we can’t at the least hold our own in the midfield. Which we’ve struggled with of late, But the Niz monster is back and if we can win the middle of the park - I can’t see them stopping us
It seems like every game we’ve had repeated crazy goal line clearances. Be nice if the football gods looked down on us in this one, smiled, and said… take heart, beloved little club that could, because todays the day, they’re all f**king going in.

This is it boys and girls!! Game day farken!!
I know we've all had discussions on here about being hard done by - by the media, by the FA, by the referees - and how valid that all is isn't the point. What does matter is this all just helps to remind us:
NOBODY RATES US AND WE DON'T CARE
I saw somebody on reddit comment about that line being cringey, and I was like 'geez, tell me you don't understand the A-League without telling me you don't understand the A-League' (they were a Macarthur supporter, so 'nuff said there)
This is a part of our DNA. Right from the start when before the league even commenced, we were told we shouldn't exist - so we said 'f**k all of you' and took the first piece of silverware this league had to offer - watching Gumps hold that trophy high as he did the lap at Gosford was absolute magic.
Anybody who has followed this team for more than a season has been through a lot (and if it's your first season with this family - welcome!) - and we haven't always seen eye to eye on here, but today we are ALL UNITED!!!
WE ARE YELLOW!!!!!!
We wear yellow.
We scream yellow.
We bleed yellow (been meaning to ask my doctor about that)
We piss yellow (we should probably drink more water)
Heck, I just bought about 5 bags of snakes and only ate the yellow ones to see if I could sh......aaaaanyway.
Yes, the odds are stacked against us - but my god, if there is one team that has 'fighting and beating their odds' in their DNA, it's us - and there's no manager in the league who understands their club's DNA more than Monty.
So do I think we have a change?
DAMN STRAIGHT I RECKON WE CAN WIN THIS!!!!
Tonight we have to tear the goddamn roof off that stadium and make as much noise as possible - not enough for us to believe it - let's make sure the boys know we believe in them and make it loud!!!!!
and for f**k's sake, let's drown out those plastic black-wearing wannabe ultraz (their active support is so f**king plastic these days they won't even wear club colours).
They may not have pride in their club and colours, but my god, we absolutely do - nobody has pride in their club like we do - and tonight we can show that!!

Sometimes it’s the small things……
Can we win tonight? Of course, we can.
Why? It’s simple.
Monty and his men represent many of us, the little guys. Pushed around, laughed at, screwed over.
Growing up, we are taught that the importance of team sports is they build camaraderie, teach us the value of teamwork, trust, belief, and hard work.
But so often, these values get lost in our sport. So often, it becomes about ego’s and money. From that comes the immature acts that are not for the good of the game but to pander to those with giant ego’s, too much money and not enough sense.
Tonight, the story will be about a team that defied the odds. It will be about the culmination of the hard work from every corner of the club, the hard-working CEO, and back-office staff.
It will be about the hard work and vision of the Football department, who saw potential in our youth and found the right blend of experience players to help adapt the squad to the vision. The local boys, lead by a Captain proud of his community.
And of course, there is us the fans. Through good times and bad, we have stuck by our team.
Tonight, it will be the little guy, who will harness all of this and see the big bad bully on the side and sitting in the stands.
Tonight, the little guy will land a punch that defies the odds, representing everyone who’s wanted to snatch what they felt like they deserved.
A simple gesture of a logo of the team where each player’s career began. A detail that reminds them of where they have come from and how proud each should be.

Gotta say the eloquence and passion that some of our fans have expressed on here is incredibly moving and genuinely inspiring.
As much as the task at hand might be a daunting one to many, there is no doubt that our club will rise to it as it has done numerous times during the course of its history.
A united and committed team will always triumph over so-called big fish and the pressure is all on Victory, so we need to take the game to them from the off. Yes we need to keep our structure and discipline but we also need to bring some chaos in their defensive third. Run at them, harass them, take them on in one on ones and we can get at them.
Monty and Sergio will no doubt have a plan to throw Popa’s mercenaries off balance and contingencies to keep them off balance, so all the boys need to do is execute the plan and give everything each of them can.
Belief is 90% of the battle and these boys can achieve so much this season, starting with today.
