ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Prefer them over Adelaide, WSW or City all of which are looking strong. Hopefully now we focus on working our starting XI partnerships and tactics for the next round.

I was really impressed with the kids tonight. Millar, Fox, Stensness and Silvero all looked right at home at that level.

In previous years, it felt like we barely had enough kids to make up a starting team, and any time we made a sub is was because a starting player was too gassed to continue.

We will actually have a bench that can bring impact this year.

So refreshing to see a keeper who will actually come off his line and clear.

We also look reasonably fit which is a huge positive. In years gone by, I think we would've rolled over late in the game, whereas tonight I think we looked the better side at the back end.

Exactly what l thought. Those reports of the team getting smashed in training by Staj has paid off. Who'd have thought?

Happy with the way we played, but it is still early days.
Each game we are seeing a different combination of players and different formations.
From what I could see it looked like we were playing a narrow 4 2 2 2.
I think with 2 DMs I would have preferred 4 2 3 1.
I felt playing 2 at the front was a bit of a luxury and allowed Roar to control the wings, which made our fullbacks work hard.
We are still a fair way away from knowing who will be the starting 11. Good to see lots of players putting their hands up and having a go.
It hopefully means that this year we will have better depth.
Loved the fitness levels along with Staj's well time subs.

We looked better after 120 minutes than we did last season after 60.
Our 2nd half was the shakiest - we were pretty solid through most of extra time. Hard to tell for me how much of that is fitness, or how much of it is we managed to click a bit better.

On the one hand, it's only the FFA Cup semis- in the bigger context of the season, even winning the thing is a minor trophy.

But considering where CCM have been the last couple of seasons, and considering it's against a team who we've never managed to get the better of in a finals competition- this could well come to be seen as a notable night for the Mariners.

Bring on Hume!

I agree with your comments about formation, I feel like we changed formation from previous matches because Murray needed to start, and we didn’t want to drop Matty.
The front combo of Oar DDS and Silvero would have been much more effective in attack, and had some control over the wings.
