ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Isn't there some opposition to getting the stadium rights?

Lawrie would have to abstain when council decide and I think some council members are opposed.

Means the final death for NRL on the Coast (unless we allow them to rent from us for their one off games) I would imagine it will be vigorously opposed.

Bloody brilliant if we can do it though

. i don't know if there is opposition or not ... but they don't have many alternatives. the council looks after everything themselves or accept what their only tenant is offering ... umm, i mean, negotiate a deal with their existing tenant

. it is worth pointing out that the topic was raised in response to a question from the floor about stopping egg-ball games ruining the pitch days before we are due to play

. and in response to another query: the possibility of playing yoof games after the big boys so the pitch is at its best for the main event

. plan is to start it next july ... no doubt to tie in with the relevant leagues at the right time

. although any state league players representing the country at the world cup should be at peak fitness for the start of the ffa cup

This must be Lucas Neill's plan...

Seriously though, all the stuff mentioned in the first post sound like good stuff. Can't wait for the FFA Cup to start, great for the club to trying to re-engage with the local clubs (they used to do the player ambassador for a club thing a couple of seasons ago didn't they?), building on the centre of excellence and focusing on coaches as well... all good. Big kicker is the FFA covering the wage costs, will be great for clubs like ours with tighter budgets.

I'd love to see the NYL playing same day as the first squad, but putting the NYL side after the A-League side seems a bit silly, wouldn't get kick offs for the NYL until 10pm after 7:30 kickoff games.

. i don't think it was ever going to be an every game thing like the old days ... and there are certain restrictions on them playing beforehand

Thanks to others who have mentioned other things at the meeting...

A question from the floor where Mike Charlesworth wants help or more advise from fans with David Gallop also expressing he would be interested as well ..... was FFA and club sites...

A comment from the floor was the club web sites look bland and provide past information and to that extend they are good but they are dull and could they be jazzed up a bit...

Mike acknowledged they where bland and needed to be made more entertaining .... his question was how... he used an example of do we want a rumour thread .... general discussion then took place with some people offering their thoughts ... some I can remember ... player interviews, player profiles, highlights of games, ...

The long and the short is Optus is in charge of the site design ... but we may be able to make some changes....

Mike has asked for our thoughts on what could be done to jazz up the club's site ...

Only until this Sunday - Optus announced at the start of the month that they were not renewing their agreements with the FFA (and withdrawing from sports sponsorship in general).

So fingers crossed whoever the FFA signs with comes up with a better design - although I think it would be even better if clubs were allowed to design & operate their own sites...

I here what their saying . I would agree that the club doesn't run a board like this ,but if they slipped adz a few bucks to run an
"independent " board that's not a bad thing.

it's hard enough keeping lunatics like styles , atomic and BK ,in line.
with only myself and wombat providing any sanity. as you know middy

They should get the blokes at UltimateA-League to do it. Their App has been better by far for the last two seasons. Firstly: it worked. Secondly: it wouldn't crash.

I went to Mingara and was pleasantly surprised with the night. So much so that i think i will become a groupie and follow the forums around and see what is new coming from each fans forum night. Lots of vision and honest answers Who will be the guests at the future forums? Will Arnie make an appearance at one of them?
