Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Exciting times, we're movin on up now.
Not quite. we still need to make the GF along with Brisbane (presuming they take out the premiership).
1st spot goes to premiers
2nd to Champions
If Champions = premiers then its the losing grand finalist. (e.g. Melbourne last year)

So in essence, we could finish 6th in the regular season and still qualify for Asia if we make the GF.
Ahh, gotcha. I just assumed that'd be the way of it because of what FP said here.

... But ridiculous that someone like Heart can finish in 6th, but fluke through to the GF and get to go to the ACL.

Sydney are going to be simply an embarrassment in the AFC!
Im actually looking forward to seeing Sydney get decimated in Shanghai . I know who I'll be cheering on.
Agree about Brisbane, I hope they can keep it together by the time they play in the ACL

I want Sydney to do well in the ACL and will be cheering them on along with the Tards.

If we are constantly being beaten by Chinese teams it does not help our chance of getting a third ACL spot.

Plus all teams get a share of prize money don't they Mick?
Both good points. I usually support whatever Oz teams are in it, but I've taken a shining to Shangers. Gone to watch them a few times and they're always on tv over here.

Likewise. ACL is about Australia for me. Not inter club rivalry.

Deej, yeah thats correct re the money spilt. I remember some at AUFC weren't too pleased about it at the time B)

On the path to the greatest nemesis, two enemies will walk together....

ACL is us verse them, will be supporting sydney and Melbourne, don't want Asia laughing at us, so let's hope they stand up and make us proud!!

The Nix fans must be loving their expat at the moment! What a game from the Glinch. Maybe got a bit cocky and tried too much at the start of the second half, but he was sensational tonight. Better get that contract resigned quickly.

Our midfield worked exceptionally well for the first 60 minutes until we stopped playing. I guess you can only blame the humidity for that, but I was scared we were going to see a repeat of the Victory game.

3: McGlinchey
2: Ryan
1: Dutchy/Perez

The Glinch was outstanding tonight, one of the best individual performances in a mariners jersey i've seen in 6 seasons. did wear down but so did the teams energy.

we do need to inflict that killer blow, 15 mins in after they survived our onslaught nix started to smell a point.

hats off to Matt Ryan, bounced back 100%

3. McGlinchy
2. Matt Ryan

I think we are a serious chance of getting three points wednesday...finish early chances as we will tire.

I wasnt at the game sadly. What was the crowd? Looked about 6k on the TV.

Thought we were very flat for the first 10 mins with Wilko and Dutchy both asleep but after that we started to get into the swing of things and controlled the game reasonably easily and definately deserved the win.

I was very impressed with Perez and though he was the difference (along with WeeMac) between the sides.

MOM

3pts WeeMac (the goal swings it)
2pts Perez
1pt Dutchy (Rose and Ryan also deserved a point)

Ryan 7.5 Very Good Game.
Bojic 7. Great to have him back...he is becomming a very important player for us.
Rose 7.5 Good game, especially in first half. Should have scored and would have probably got the 3pts.
Wilko 6.5. Did enough.
Dutchy. 7.5 What a legend. Was crap for first 10mins then really switched on.
WeeMac 8. Great game. Good goal and could have had a couple. Worked hard defensively as well.
Perez 8. Lovely stuff. Glides with the ball, superb passer.
Griffiths 6.5. Solid.
Bozanic 6.5. Did some good things but a bit off the pace.
Simon 7. Fantastic workrate and bullied the Kiwi's all night. Technically poor and passing sloppy but still a commendable effort.
McBreen. 6.5. Some decent touches and lay-offs but not very clinical.

Ryan made some great early saves at the beginning when the sheep were full of confidence. Dutcy was amazing as usual and Rose was outstanding on the Left flank. Good finish by the glinch. Good win to keep us near 2nd spot.

However, we need to stop allowing teams to get back into the games. either finish off chances or controll more possession in the 2nd half. 1st half was outstanding to watch and from both a defensive and offensive point of view.
