huke is a defender?

Apparantly when Lawrie 1st asked Huke what position he like to play, his response was "anywhere". Lawrie said no really, where do you want to play, and Huke said "anywhere".

Seems to me like he is hungry for the chance to impress, and thats what we need in our squad atm, players wanting to actually be out there and pushing the usual starters for a spot.

Jack of all trades hey... Master of none.

Just the type of player we need ::)

I'm an ex pat from Bradford (Huke was loaned to them) in the Uk and spoke to family just recently and they can't even remeber him playing for them. Not a good sign

And  why the f**k would Lawrie not know where to play him. So he's signed a player who's being loaned out to Conference teams (aka East Gosford versus Ourimbah standard) and he doesn't know where to play him... Well done Lawrie

do you play cricket by any chance ???

sorry mods, i know its off topic

Perth are chasing a couple of  Socceroos in Mile Sterjovski and Chris Coyne, seems we could also chase Coyne as a CB he would be good in the A-League .

I would prefer Sterj.

Pretty sure he once played under Lawrie.
Is this correct?

Yes

Awesome.

I think a marquee player should be an attacking player, as they are more exciting for the non-football people.
I don't believe that Coyne can provide that and your average person probably doesn't know of him.

How do you know we didn't chase anyone? Perhaps we did but never went to the media.

I hear we are constantly being out bid as we dont actually have very much money?

There is a reasonably competitive side in there but it needs better organisation and tactics than we are seeing to bring it out.

I thought we were boasting that we were the most financially backed team in the comp in terms of sponsorship, and then the link with Sheffield and the trust fund was going to bring in a lot of money...

Is there something I am missing?

Wouldn't the other teams be suffering the credit crisis as well? Particularly Fury and GC because they would be suffering both - as they have no crowds?

Anyone can get a $5k sponsor - face it, we don't have the money for a top quality marquee, 1 particular player showed a lot of interest to join us but we offered rubbish.

Lyall and Turnbull need to take a look around the league and dig deeper in their pockets!

Are you referring to when Dwight said he was keen?
Or was there someone else?

queensland player looked like eugene dadi, so i will assume he is a striker. The adelaide player, judging by his hairstyle is a midfielder or striker.

I hope this info was helpful
