ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Perfect marquee player for us -- Willie Mason! He's done with the Roosters, so he's available. He can't play, but imagine the crowd who'd come along to see him make an absolute dick of himself...... ah no, he's already done that hasn't he.... ;D

Do mean he'll make a dick of himself on the field or at the Leaguesie after the match?

He seems to be pretty good at doing both.

Oh shit I realise who it is!!
Lotti Tuquiri!!!
(sp?)

He's actually listed on the TAB as 500 to 1 to join the A-League. Turnbull puts 1 mill on him, Mariners sign him and we instantly become one of the richest clubs in the world!

It's management brilliance!

Any recent developments with Gary Wales?

An earlier post said he was not signing

Sorry but where? can't find any news. I thought the last we heard was that he went back overseas after his trial period with us.

Coincidentally I was watching VPL highlights on Aurora and saw both Gary Wales and Milos Lujic (who played against Syd FC at Leichhardt) both playing for Richmond! It has made me confused as to what Wales is doing if he is having a holiday in Australia and keeping football fit in the hopes for a last minute HAL contract.

Lujic scored one of the two goals against Dandenong, he looked good playing for us as well - has he fallen off our radar?

Yeah I saw that too.
Lujic was from the VPL from memory so that's no surprise. But I thought the same thing about Wales. I even rewinded it, going surely this has to be another Gary Wales?

Anyone?

One of the Jamaican triallist should be arriving next week. He is a dynamic outside left midfielder.

Apparently he is real quality. Sheffield offered him up. When they enquired about Travis' progress Lawrie said he was playing off the bench. They were so stunned at the A-Leagye quality that they supposedly recommended the Jamaican as a better player.

Thanks Mick... left foot RRRR was hoping he would be a right back...

But a good left mid is needed if what the forum says is true about the No Dick head policy ...

Presumably this could be of the other reasons that Adrian is out of favour... ?

or he is bollocks

but yeah, maybe

or in our current formation the front 3 need an incredibly high work rate to press the opposition and defend from the front..............not him really is it?

we also need not give away cheap possession because our defensive and defensive midfield structure needs to be tight

the structure at times is almost zonal

with this structure we cannot be caught out quickly in defence

So Lawrie wants a Left and Right midfield that can 'counter defend' (close down plays) as well as attack, and left and right wingers who can also close down counter attacks before they get past the half way line? If that's the case, it's a good strategy, but a lot of work on our midfield & flankmen.

I know the likes of Kwassi and Porter are up to the task, and McGlinchey seems like the type of guy who can help out, Hutch can drift out Left to help out too & Pedj is a bloody workhorse, but Elrich, Mrdja and Caceres don't have reputations for a high work rate do they? Could this also be why Travis isn't starting - a question mark over his endurance at the early part of the season?
