Given our additions, how do you think we will line up in 9 days?

I'm not sure of the injury situation except I don't expect Huke to be there. I have also assumed little Mac is signed.

I'd be looking at

        Danny

Porter    Wilko Doig Pedj

Travis McGlinchey  Hutch Kwas

   Simon Dyl

Bench: Redders, Clarky, Caceres, Elrich, Nik

Pedj gets the nod over Heff because of his free-kicks and I think Heff has struggled against Melbourne. Clark gets the bench spot because he can cover the whole backline.

The big concern is that Caceres, Elrich and Nik have all been bagged by Lawrie. They can either take it the right way and buck up - or we have little on offer on the bench.

Assuming we signed McGlinchey and he's match fit for the HAL :

..........................Danny
Boogs............Doig.......Wilko..........Heff
Porter/Travis...Pedj....McGlinchey....Hutch
...................Simon......Kwas

Bench - anyone else

Lawrie has persisted with Pedj in the middle all pre-season , he won't change that IMO.  Kwas and Simon have also been linking up well in training, Macca is still not 100%.

Boogs is too slow for a RB thou IMO but feel based on pre-season he'll get the nod, Archie could have a fun game?

Caceres and Elrich are lazy, don't really wanna be here, Nik is just Nik, shame really as they are all good players on decent money, their attitudes needs to change to play much part in V5.

Is Travis even a wide player?

I think it will look something like this

              Danny
Boog -- wilko -- doig --- heff

Porter--pedj---mcgli---hutch
          Simon----Kwas

Only because i hear macca is injured? Otherwise i would think kwas could also switch with hutch/porter, and macca obviously up front

Goods new all around..

Good news all around
EXCEPT for the lingering controversy that . .
Negotiations are also continuing over a consultancy role for Socceroos assistant coach Graham Arnold, who has not been involved at club level since 1999.

Only time will tell

In a recent interview Nick Travis described himself as a box to box midfielder;
the report I read about trialists said we were trialing two but did not say that both were Jamaican.

Any recent developments with Gary Wales?

An earlier post said he was not signing

Sorry but where? can't find any news. I thought the last we heard was that he went back overseas after his trial period with us.

Not a striker from the looks of sydney game. Midfielder, and central i would think. Did not look to have the pace to be a wide midfielder.

Did not look to have the pace to be a wide midfielder?........ a bit like the other midfielders we have on our books...... apart from Porter and Simon, all our players are a tad slow..don't you agree?

Meanwhile, the Mariners’ second-choice goalkeeper, Andrew Redmayne impressed Sheffield United during his recent two-week trial, and could yet join the Blades. Redmayne, now in Argentina with the Young Socceroos, has a British passport, which would simplify a move to Bramall Lane.
good to see he impressed, but could be a big loss if we lose danny to injury

If he's put in as a forward it means that Lawrie can still play Hutch in midfield.

Any way any ideas on our strongest line up? I've got

                                Danny

          Pedj        Wilko        Doig        Heff

Elrich/Kwas      Travis        McGlinchey    Caceras/kwas

                      Matty            Macca

Bench: Huke, Boogs, Mrdja, Redders
