Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

It's gooona be a looong looong season! Forget the ACL lads!

....and why?

Because someone wanted to make an ACA style statement.

I think a more correct statement would be along the lines of "with the current squad forget about doing to well in the ACL if nothing changes"

I for one will not forget about the ACL and am trying to move closer so I can go to the games. The ACL may well be when our deal with SU comes to the fore and we get some of there players for the ACL on a short term basis to raise there profile in Asia.

I can understand why people are feeling negative, but we can't say it's all doom and gloom before we've even kicked a ball.

It's concerning that we don't have a keeper and attacking midfielder to replace Tommy but let's just wait and see what happens in the next few weeks!

IF we sign a quality ACM we'll have a fantastic midfield, I think we're fine up front as long as Mrdja is fit (how much longer do we have to say that), plus we need a keeper which I'm sure we'll get, we're then pretty much sweet and looking at cover.  If those 2 position were filled with Yorke and Van Stratten what would people think then?

--------------------VS
Osman---------Wilko-----Boogs------Heff
Elrich(Kebab king)....Mile.....Yorke.....Caceres
---------------Macca---Mrdja

Bench : Danny/Redders, Hutch, Simon and Clark

Sitting in the stands : Porter, Sash, Stringers, D'Appuzzo

It's just those 2 positions that we really need, I'd love to see another CB too as we're light there IMO

I'd feel a lot better with those signings, but it seems as though a lot of talent is walking out our door. Gumps, Kwas, Tommy, Vidmar, Aloisi, Browny and maybe Mrdja if he pulls up lame have been covered by the reletively unknown quantity of Caceras, The Kebab King and Macca. 7 starting players gone and only 3 signed. Lawrie and the gang need to pull their fingers out!!!

Lee Hendrie would have been great IMO.

Don't forget Owens will be in the stands as well

I am hoping that there's going to be a number of announcements after 30 June.

A lot of contracts are tied into that date, and if a player has agreed to sign with another club, not much can be said til after the existing contract has expired.

CCM has a number of vacancies, most importantly the goalie spot. I'd hate to think that Lawrie and Lyall let Trott and the likes of Kwassi, Tommy, Gumps (although that has a legal argument to it), Aloisi  go  ( and Vidmar and Brownie retire) without some considerable effort to replace with at least like quality players.

We are either going to have a spate of signing announcements in the next couple of weeks or we are going to be one negative bunch of supporters going into pre season.

If we get no announcements, and are stuck with some new guys, some rehab patients and a bunch of youngsters, the management team will deserve every criticism they will get from all parts.

how come we never sign any good players?? We should try to bring over players from the premier league then we would win easy

The salary cap means we can't pay them enough, and premier league players don't want to come over here and play in the A-League.
