Did the idea of Heff going overseas originate from early hints that Kwas was leaving?

(i.e. a rumor on the Sydney forum about a CCM player moving OS and it's someone we may miss more than we think)

Hope that's the only source for the Heff talk

Does anyone know anything about Danny Ireland 17 australian Coventry City, he's a keeper.
What about Nathan Coe ?

If Heff goes o/s shane stefanutto could be a replacement ?
Danny Invincibile could be another possibly striker

Invincible wants to leave but his club will not release him. He is under contract for this season coming.

There was an article on 442 saying he will be watched by scouts from Greece and CCC for the first half of the season. Doubt he will leave until at least January tbh.

well mckinna wants vanstratten and NOT bosnich:

EXCLUSIVE: Jess Vanstrattan has held informal talks with Central Coast Mariners manager Lawrie McKinna and the Bluetongue boss admits he'd love to have the Italian-based keeper on board.  Number one Danny Vukovic is facing a lengthy ban and the Mariners have just released second choice keeper Matthew Trott.

McKinna is on the lookout for another quality keeper and while Vanstrattan is one of several options being examined, his Central Coast links make him an attractive target. The Gosford-born 25-year-old has several friends in the Mariners squad and met up up with the players for a recent training session. The keeper's last outing on Australian soil was for Juventus in last month's pre-season friendly against Melbourne Victory but last week he was invited to join the Socceroos for training as they prepared for the China game.

McKinna told au.fourfourtwo.com today: "Jess is a Central Coast boy and he's friends with a few of the boys here such as Dylan MacAllister and Andrew Clark.

"He came along to a session to @h up with the boys and I managed to have a chat with him as well. "I believe his contract with his club is up and he said he was keen to play in Australia. He's certainly a name that's of interest. There are a few we're looking at."

However, McKinna said Mark Bosnich was not one of those options despite recent speculation.

Whether it's Vanstrattan he lands or not, McKinna wants a fit goalkeeper with some games behind him.
He said the outgoing Trott had been unfortunate with injury but neither he nor youngster Andrew Redmayne had enough game time under their belts at this point.

Meanwhile, McKinna confirmed to au.fourfourtwo.com that he expected to see Adam Kwasnik move on to Wellington Phoenix.

He said: "His contract had been updated here but nothing had been signed.

"I believe Wellington have made him a very good offer. We won't stand in his way. Adam has been a great servant here."

sounds promising!!! Now another 3 or 4 signings before the pre season and we are sweet.

Does anyone else think we are leaving it quite late as far as recruitment goes? I mean it isn.t leaving the players much time to develop combinations before the season starts.Last year we had virtually the same squad as V2, so the players knew each others strengths and weaknesses, this year we will have a lot of new faces and there doesn't seem much time to built the continuity that the team will need against the stronger teams.

All the other teams seemed to recruit a few weeks after last season finished take, Sydney and wellington for example. Adelaide seem to have covered the losses burns and bruceaand Melbourne recruited for the Acl. I'm ot to sure what doing in Perth and Brissy but I feel we need some major Signing ASAP!!

Thoughts???

Kwassie had an option for another year in his contract, but got offered alot more money at nix, and we did not match it.

All it said was that they had informal talks with VS. Not that we had signed him. Hopefully we have upgraded our offer from guest player.

EXCLUSIVE: Lawrie McKinna's Sheffield United swoop for a former international has been dashed by the player's refusal to head Down Under.
The Central Coast Mariners boss has not revealed the identity of the player concerned but former Aston Villa and England midfielder Lee Hendrie is thought to be the man in question. Northern Ireland's Keith Gillespie was the other name in the frame.

Hendrie, who made his name playing for Aston Villa, has found himself out of favour at the Championship club and spent the latter part of last season on loan at Leicester City.

McKinna has made no secret of his desire to make the most of the links established between the partnership clubs and he told au.fourfourtwo.com that it had been a case of so near and yet so far with the player in question.

He said: "We were very close to something with an experienced attacking midfielder at Sheffield.

"They had agreed that we could have the boy but he's decided he doesn't want to come to Australia. It might be that he thinks he has options still in the Championship over there.

"Still, there's nothing we can do about it now, he's made his decision and we move on."

The Mariners were heading for Canberra today to prepare for two trial games this week. The squad includes Matthew Osman and Paul O'Grady, both expected to play some part after overcoming their respective serious injury concerns

This partnership is turning out to be useful lol
