im not too worried who we pick up. i mean... if mrdja comes fit (no jokes please), our team will be pretty darn strong. i think any new signings would just be a bonus, no matter what the position.

An attacking midfielder for me , I just don't think Hutch has enough of a creative spark like Tommy did.......even then Tommy went to sleep in some games.

a very active, created center mid. A fast cb. Another striker if mrdja leaves, and if not a backup. Also a GK for danny's cover, though i would say that that might not be decided til his appeal.

I wonder if Lawrie is looking at a potential keeper over in Sheffield to cover Danny?

Paper says we are looking at...

John Filan (born February 8, 1970 in Sydney) is an Australian football (soccer) goalkeeper.

38!

Lawrie has spoken to him, wont sign anyone till Dannys fate is certain

wasnt it a joke rumor that you put up and they took the bait lol. i guess we can now try something a bit more unbelievable now.
I hear C. Ronaldo quite likes the beaches on the Central Coast........ let's see the Telegraph run with that to a front page headline.  ;)

I heard that Matthew Bellamy is a fag.

I think Sydney had 'discussions' with him a while ago....

Filan was looking to come back last year to australia. He was dismayed when he found that there was not a team in the league who was really needing his services. He would have been likely for one of the new qld teams i would have thought. Since they are not in, we have a chance. Though i am unaware of his season this year. Where? did? he play?

according to Wikipedia he didn't play last season.....he returned to Australia from Wigan...and was tipped as a loan keeper for Sydney as backup to Bolton, but decided against it at the last minute.  Obviously came to his senses and thought the Mariners would be better ?

Well, im not going back through all the pages on the thread, but Lawrie said we are looking at a current socceroo. Every name Ican think of was mentioned except Chipperfield. I know we have his position in our squad covered, but maybe Heff has decided to go overseas again?

I would not say no to Chippers in the yellow and blue

Harry on NBN said that a stint in the HAL isnt out of the question

Or Harry, IF he can get his bloody injurys sorted, otherwise he will be a bigger flop than Whonino and Lardel combined

A pacey CB would be quite nice too? Only Boogs, Wilko and Stringers leaves us a bit thin in the event of injuries or suspensions.

I don't think we will be looking at big Paddy Kenny as a replacement for Danny after that lovely blunder he made against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.

Top player, a freind of mine who follows Wigan said he was almost solely responsible for getting them to the premeirship.

I think he may have been exagerating a bit though
