If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Brown is a teacher?

You wouldn't expect many Thugby players with that behind them.

Yeah he was a teacher before he played, he taught then left as mariners first signing promising he'd be back in a couple of years.

what does he teach? besides if we dont get Vidmar or Yorke, i think that youth squad coaching position could go to him since Gumps is going north. Because doesnt Brown coach at soccerpro

He was a substitute that got offered full-time teaching but mariners got him first.
He taught me P.E and Science, pretty good soccer p.e teacher too ;)

He should go and teach at St Eddies (I am pretty sure he went there as a youngster).

They seem to be in need of a football team coach as they seem to be picking Rugby League players and they can't seem to handle it and lose their games.

Back when I was there, we had guys like Ollie Bozanic and Xavier Foresberg in our team... along with other various players from teams like Manly, Spirit and Blacktown... and we won State.

Go and teach at St Eddies Browny!

Yeah, I agree. Would be bloody tough on Hutch to miss out.

That's what I don't get with the whole York thing.

We are already so strong in midfield, I'd rather the dollars on a striker. I acknowledge we need a creative midfielder, but I'm not 100% convinced we couldn't find a better one than Yorke.

We're thin up front. We really only have one striker with Sash. Who knows if Nik is going to play again and Matty couldn't score in a brothel.

Is it just possible if we do buy York he could be a striker than than a mid?

hey...does this rumor in 4-4-2 mean we already have Juninho and are about to let him go ?  :piralaugh:

After hunting for a suitable replacement to brazilian star felipe Ricki Herbert and the Wellington Phoenix are set to sign former Mariners marquee player Juninho on a two year deal to fill the the role of attacking midfielder. Phoenix staff are set to announce this major coup in the next week as well as the signing of formr Socceroo Joel Porter from Hartlepool

elrich has been used many times in the past as a striker, it seems everyone is forgetting this, or assuming that he'll definately be used as an out and out winger... probably his best position but can play striker. much like mile sterjovski. (who'd be much better off on the central coast then with derby county hahaha)

I never knew he played striker before. Was that at Parramatta Power?

I cannot ever remember him being a striker. Was he out and out and behind a front two?

Yeah agree, but hey he's "bored"  ::)
friend of mine likes to say only boring people get bored ;D
I was going to ask the parramatta power question re Elrich as striker too, because if he's worked with Lawrie in this position before, it just may be... He's got the pace for it, which would be bloody nice for a change, and he just never quite seemed to find his groove on the wing with nix, but yes of course there is the fitness and no prep etc... or maybe just nix for that matter  :p

Also remember that people like Yorke were also linked with us mid season 3.

I also think Tarek may be here next year. I expect about 3 announcements in the next few weeks...
well one of our new signings WON'T be Ahmad's little brother...... in the news is this snippet...Socceroo new boy Tarek Elrich has finally penned a new two year deal with Newcastle Jets - while vowing to make his brother pay for joining Central Coast Mariners.  should add even more spice to Mariners v Scum matches....

thanks for the support Graant.....I was just trying to post something I thought was amusing and that others might also.....and wasn't expecting abuse from someone with even fewer postings than me.....perhaps he's so bored he's venting his anger at an old timer.
