This is the part I like

"Ahmad is just one of a number of exciting player recruitments and retentions we have planned for the coming weeks and months and the coaching staff, Peter Turnbull and myself are extremely contented with the direction in which we are heading," said Gorman.
Dwight.

Any rumours on where he's going?

Not sure if he'll get another club tbh.

I think Caceres has come in as a replacement for him IMO.

Yeah, I thought he'd struggle to find another club as well.

Maybe Galaxy if they come in or Wellington maybe?

Age would be against him big time.

I really dont see Brown as a stayer. If Lawrie had him in mind for the long term he wouldnt have signed Ceccoli he wouldve given Brown that game time. Sadly I think the standard of the league is better than Brown is now and Brown is past his best.

what does he teach? besides if we dont get Vidmar or Yorke, i think that youth squad coaching position could go to him since Gumps is going north. Because doesnt Brown coach at soccerpro

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dylan_Macallister

Dylan Macallister (born May 17, 1982 in Manly) is an Australian footballer playing for Norwegian Premier League side Lyn of Oslo.

Club career
As a youth, Macallister played for his local Manly Warringah Dolphins before moving on to Sydney Olympic (then known as the Olympic Sharks). He marked his professional debut for the club in 1999 by scoring in his first appearance. Having won the 2001-02 National Soccer League with the Sharks, Macallister proceeded to join another club from Sydney, the now defunct Northern Spirit. Macallister was then supposed to have left for Switzerland and FC Aarau in August, but immediately regretted signing the contract. The transfer was eventually called off and Macallister instead continued playing for Northern Spirit until he was bought by the Norwegian club Brann in February 2004.

After some initial success he scored two goals against Molde in the second round of the 2004 season Dylan figured mostly as a substitute. He scored 10 goals in 38 appearances which equates to approximately 20 matches in terms of playing time. Macallister's first season was blighted by a fatigue injury and after a good start to his second season he suffered a training injury, sidelining him for eight weeks.

Macallister was sold to Lyn on March 29, 2006 and debuted in the season opener against Start. He appeared in the starting line-up in his third and fourth matches, scoring a fine goal in the fourth, but failed to become a regular.

Following the end of the transfer dispute over John Obi Mikel and subsequent return of Lyn's other Nigerian players, Chinedu Ogbuke and Ezekiel Bala, Dylan Macallister was one of three non-EU players on the team at a time when Norwegian clubs were only allowed two non-EU players in their matchday squads. He was therefore loaned out to the Adeccoliga club Sparta Sarpsborg, from August 16 until the end of the season.

During his stay at Sparta he made nine appearances, scoring two goals. Sparta retained their spot in the league, but Macallister's season ended on a dull note as he was sent off in his last game. He has now returned to Oslo. His contract with the club lasts until 2008.

Once his contract with Lyn Oslo expires, Dylan will join A-League club, Central Coast Mariners.

[edit] International career
Dylan Macallister has made several appearances for Australia's various age-specific teams. He participated in the 1999 FIFA U-17 World Championship, scoring three goals for his national side. Australia would go on to finish as runners-up behind Brazil. He later played for the U-20 team in the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship. In the qualifiers for the 2004 Olympic Football Tournament he became Australia's top scorer with six goals in seven matches.

is it possible that the mariners will either play 5 in the midfield or have a policy of squad rotation if we do get Yorke because we would have 7 players in the midfield that are considered above scratch in the a league: Yorke, Elrich, Caceres, Kwasnik, Owens, Jedinak and Hutchinson. Who to pick out of those I dont know. as a matter of fact the safest position on the side would be Jedinak. though when injuries and suspensions come into play. we will be down to 4 or 5 of those. Note we also have McAndrew and Porter in the midfield but maybe lawrie will shift them to defense

Sheffield Utd to send top kids to Central Coast Mariners
tribalfooball.com - March 09, 2008

Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe has opened the door to immediately sending their top youngsters to Australian partnership club Central Coast Mariners.

Revealing that he held talks with three other Australian clubs before striking a deal with Mariners, McCabe told the Sheffield Star: "If the co-operative agreement (with Mariners) works then it will see us bring their better players to the UK.

"But in other instances, where there may be problems with passports and the like, we can place them with another of our clubs in Europe.

"We could also send some of our star academy players to the Mariners. Because they are the top team in Australia that might give our player better value than sending them to a lower-league team in this country or elsewhere.

"We will see action in the near future but obviously, when you speak of benefits, it is difficult to put a time scale on things."

What about Dwight helping manage the youth team???
Could that work
He has his licence in europe and how good would it be for the youth team to have Yorke manage them
