isnt boogs from newcastle and his dad is a coach up that way ??

Yeah thats right.

Explain why he had a sudden form slump against the scum too.
The contract offers I mean, not the newcastle heritage.

I hope that isn't true. He has been playing great lately and looking very natural flying up the wing and unleashing those crosses we all heard about when he was crook.

No not someone we want to lose.

But sorry Sean, I wasn't trying to build a case for it, just saw some logic there, but I'll only believe it when it actually happens.

Really its no surprise at all that other clubs would be interested in him with the way our defence has been performing (especially a new club - with slimmer pickings available).
And it would only take someone to hear that some other clubs were interested in him and the rumour mill would begin.

Post was directed at being upset over the fact of losing him. Not the performance on fri, I thought he played well but got nutmegged right when it counted. I highly enjoyed both him and Heff having that space to run up and down the line pumpin in crosses, it was just a shame our strikers couldnt stay together like the Jets did, and our midfield didnt run in at the right positions to take full advantage of the balls from Boogs etc.

Boogard is an excellent talent unluckily wasted out-of-position at RB.

Most clubs would love to have him as a CB on their books.

He is in career best form at RB and it allows him to get into the box and chime in with a few goals.
His lack of pace doesn't seam so critical out there.

Whilst a much better CB than RB, I reckon his pace has improved this season.

There is no doubt that he has a great engine, but it looks like Clarkie has helped him pick up his pace?

+1, has obviously been working on his pace as this was a big weakness

Wow, that would be a massive loss. I feel a lot more confident with Boogs back there than I do with Porter. We would have a hard time covering that I think.

Please stay :)

Would make very little sense for AUFC to pick up another big, slow, CB. Admittedly Boogs is better than theirs right now, but to have Cornthwaite, Fyfe and Boogs (and maybe Rudan) would make no sense.

Yeah Depth sucks and he's young... why bother

Boogs is a Wanted Man

Nigel Boogaard is a wanted man with at least four A-League clubs vying with Central Coast Mariners to secure his services next season.

The Mariners have opened negotiations over a new deal with the Newcastle-born defender with A-League new boys Melbourne Heart also believed to be in the mix.

Boogaard's performances this season have impressed Mariners boss Lawrie McKinna and he is anxious to try and keep the player in Gosford.

"Boogs has done well and I don't think it's just one other club that's interested. There's probably three or four," McKinna told au.fourfourtwo.com today.
