Central Coast Mariners squad - 2010/2011 HAL season

if travis was an injury prone player before CCM and LM nursing him through the early part of the season then it makes sense for Travis (at his age) to have at least 1 more year building his body up to full strength in a competition that will be a little bit more forgiving because of his talent. If he goes back and becomes a bit player again then he will be washed up for ever over there. Sort of runs with the discussion of the young aussie players that go away and dont make it.

Danny and simon are on long contracts arent they?

So probably would be a loan move, or would be very decent cash

Yeah and Simon bought a house pretty recently.

I would rather stand out here than disappear over there.
However, once presented the cash, I may change my mind like everyone else...

I must have missed it who is young Welsh kid coming .. he sounds good I must be behind the times on this one..

Welsh kid is Jonathan Brown, 19. Represented Wales at U21 lvl. Was with Cardiff City for a yr.
Striker and has pace apparently. Welsh sprint champion at 14 or some such.

Anyone know if hew was at the open training session today?

I think he was. There were two guys I didn't recognise. One of them I thought was Nikas, so I'm assuming the other was Brown, who was hanging out with the imports before the session started. He was wearing #25.

The open training session was good. They should do it more often.

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/football-news/2009/12/11/jonathan-brown-signs-for-an-australian-side-91466-25366705/

FORMER Cardiff City striker Jonathan Brown has signed for Australian national league side Central Coast Mariners.

The Wales Under-21 international, from Bridgend, has signed a deal until the end of the season with a potential two-year contract at the end of the term.

I was invited for a two-week trial over here with North Queensland, Perth Glory and the Mariners and everything went very well, said Brown, 19.

The Mariners were the first to offer a contract and package to me and I was keen to do the deal and settle things there and then.

The club have been fantastic to me ever since I landed in the country and looked after me very well indeed.

The lifestyle is just amazing and the football is of a very high standard with all eyes on the countrys World Cup hopes.

The manager wants me to be an out-and-out winger as he sees this is my best position and Im glad that I can express myself in that role and look forward to being part of the first-team action.

The story was in the Telegraph a few weeks ago; it's a testament to the family, both the Elrich's playing in the A league are thoroughly decent people. I have a lot of admiration for both of them

Excellent. Thought he must be 25. As Tyson said, put in good quality crosses - But most excitingly is apart from the impressing Lewis, we may perhaps now have our first true winger.

Damian Brown was very much a winger, just lacked a little pace but his crossing and freekicks were superb

Whats the news on the buying the T Shirts seeing you tease us now...

Other matters if we are getting a fast Right wing / mid .. is this speak that Travis is going.. otherwise we need a striker and a small fast striker would seem to be a good fit with Matty..
